President Trump is set to sign an executive order aimed at boosting historically black colleges and universities, known as HBCUs, on Tuesday amid a period of increased outreach to the institutions from high-level members of the administration.
The order will allow HBCU officials to serve as advisors to Trump on his urban agenda as well as increase the private sector's role in the colleges and universities, a White House official said.

hey... a mulatto president should have thought of that.
My guess is the left will say that he only supporting HBCU’s in order to get blacks to start attending them in higher numbers, thus “resegregating” all other universities.
That sounds like a very plausible Leftist talking point Burma.
Nailed it.
I’m against segregation, voluntary or compulsory.
Correct.
Hell, they can’t possibly do a worse job than all these eggheads from Yale and Harvard.
Here are just a few of the colleges and universities that fall under President Trump’s new Executive Order:
American Baptist College
Arkansas Baptist College
Benedict College (American Baptist Church)
Bennett College (United Methdist Church)
Bethune-Cookman College (United Methodist Church)
Concordia College of Alabama (Lutheran Church, Misdouri Synod)
Fisk University (United Church of Christ)
St. Augustine’s University (Episcopal Church of the US)
Stillman College (Presbyterian)
Texas College (Christian Methodist Episcopal)
Virginia Union University (Amercan Baptist Churches)
Xavier University of Louisiana (Roman Catholic)
Is there something wrong with a religiously connected College or University being designated such?
There is nothing at all wrong with a religiously affiliated school being designated as such.
My post was in response to your concerns about Muslims. They tend not to enroll in significant numbers at Christian colleges but there are some Muslim students at many Christian colleges.
“...I would love and support HBCUs if they would open 2 year and technical colleges in the inner cities. Those campus should be in the inner cities of the north as the HBCU are below the Mason Dixon line. Prepare the students for a career or move on to a four year program.
Keep the costs low, convert unused inner city buildings into a productive community use.....”
call it ‘the millionaire next door’ program
None of the historically black colleges or universities is racially segregated. There are students of all races attending.
One of the schools that got sigificant national media exposure is West Virginia State University.
The school was established as the “West Virginia Colored Institute” in 1891 under the second Morrill Act which provided for land-grant institutions for black students in the 17 states that had segregated schools.
In 1954, following the Supreme Court’s ruling in Brown v. Board of Education to desegregate public education, the college transformed from an all-black college with a primarily residential population to a predominantly commuter school with mostly white students. Nearly 400 white students applied for admission. By 1966, African-Americans represented 20 percent of the total student population.
By 20112012, WVSU’s student population was 61 percent white, 12.5 percent black, 1 percent Asian, 1 percent Hispanic, 0.5 percent American Indian, and 24 percent who preferred to not identify themselves by race.
Executive orders should be used for more important matters.

This is a good move on President Trump’s part.
