In the most shocking mix-up in Oscars history, Moonlight won best picture at the Academy Awards but only after presenter Faye Dunaway announced La La Land as the winner, setting off mass confusion inside the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
I want to tell you what happened, co-presenter Warren Beatty explained after the mix-up was revealed. I opened the envelope, and it said Emma Stone, La La Land. Thats why I took such a long look at Faye and at you. I wasnt trying to be funny.
Well, I dont know what happened. I blame myself for this, Kimmel joked after the moment. Lets remember, its just an awards show. I mean, we hate to see people disappointed, but the good news is we got to see some extra speeches. We have some great movies. I knew I would screw this show up, I really did. Thank you for watching. Im back to work tomorrow night on my regular show. I promise Ill never come back. Good night!
Speaking after the mix-up had been rectified, Moonlight director Barry Jenkins said, Very clearly, very clearly in my dreams this could not be true. But to hell with my dreams. Im done with it because this is true. Oh my goodness.
He added a note of praise to his La La Land opponents: And I have to say it is true. Its not fake. Weve been on the road with these guys for so long. My love to La La Land. My love to everybody. Man.
After the Oscars, PricewaterhouseCoopers which tabulates the Oscar votes released a statement apologizing for the flub: We sincerely apologize to Moonlight, La La Land, Warren Beatty, Faye Dunaway, and Oscar viewers for the error that was made during the award announcement...

Why not just give it to La La La anyway; since it doesn’t matter at all.
As Casey Stengel might accurately have said, “doesnt anyone there know how to play this game?” Or is that what they actually did?
Me neither. How can they be satisfied with awards that were given to them based on tantrums?
There was good acting in Moonlight for sure but the movie never pulled me in and I, frankly, can't get invested - at least by the way the story played out - in a movie about drug dealers, gay or otherwise.
Lion, on the other hand, was screwed by PC. Far better movie hands down.
I am warning all conservatives to stay away from Moonlight. It has explicit gay sex and straight sex and a positive scene of pot smoking. Then takes a moralistic pose about crack and bad parenting and bullying. All clothed in PC. Don’t fall for the hype.
The blacks were the first to reach the moon. Fact.

Globally, Hollywood and the entertainment business is a Trillion dollar enterprise.
Remember when Congress got involved with Major League Baseball, and conducted televised investigations?
I would like to see Hollywood, its executives, and the entire business investigated.
There is ample enough justification: there are unions involved (Screen Actors Guild, among others), massive amounts of money, and Price Waterhouse cannot accurately answer what occurred last night.
Did La La Land win before the ceremonies and they changed it?
The Left always says that the "seriousness of the charge" warrants investigations.
Fine.
Investigate Hollywood.
Maybe the winner was chosen by the election pollsters?
What a bunch, they know how to run the country but cannot get a simple ballot count correct. Jackasses, one and all.
Well I do, it was the Russians.......
Well, we all know what that is:
Russians did it at Trump’s behest.
This is literally the only way people were/are going to remember “Moonlight” even existed.
Steve Harvey is smiling right now.
Just good business; blacks are among the few remaining segments of the population hooked on TV and movie screens. Marketers love them; they let them continue operating with a 1990s model instead of having to move with technology...
Or, one could have just not watched that back slapping, pretentious dog show to start with. I guess they’ll be yelling a new conspiracy - the Russians Hacked the Oscars.
Something happen on TV last night after the race?
Really. Who gives a flying rat’s butt? Why am I even reading this crap?
Really? Maybe one or two.... which were shut out.
