The president was heading to his new flagship property in D.C., the Trump Hotel, for a private dinner at the BLT Steakhouse inside. Once the president arrived at the location, the reporter who was on assignment to cover him, Jordan Fabian of The Hill, was not let into the building and had to wait in the van outside for the remainder of the dinner, without a guest list or details of what was happening inside.
Inside the restaurant, I was seated at a table that had booked hours earlier, directly next to where Trump would be dining. I made the booking based on a tip from a trusted source. I was ready to tell the story no one else would get to see and was personally fascinated to observe how a restaurant prepares for a president and how Trump interacts when he believes no press are present...
6:45 PM: Our bacon tower appetizer arrives. Highly recommended.

Nothing like giving a step
by step itinerary, layout, secret service moves, photos for location and which table he uses-and photos from above-for ‘reference’ -
Does no one else see the problem with this pieces?
I suspect the WH was the source. I could be 100% wrong but the newspaper is low key enough to attract Trump.
I ate so many fresh beets once it turned my urine lite cranberry.
I love beets, especially golden beets.
I read the comments b4 I read the article. I thought people were overreacting. Posting this much information about someone’s personal life in a way that can affect their safety is wrong.
Later, thanks
Yeah, that was my thought too, though of course anyone in attendance could have made the same observations on their own, the tick tock on it just didn’t feel right—even though it was a positive story.
“Ketsup on steak?”
To each his own. This could be a thread unto itself. Ketchup... Mix with balsamic or even a malt vinegar and a dash of Louisiana does it for me. And sometimes it’s just Salt and freshly ground Pepper or maybe mayo. I only use mustard on hamburgers though.
Also... because I do not eat much beef, I now go for the grass fed organic, which tastes like the beef we used to get in the 60’s.
Aged? Isn’t USA beef aged for 2 weeks? The oldest aged beef I’ve purchased was 6 weeks and it was noticeably different.
Well done? I prefer medium, just a little pink.
I do t get it. We put ketchup on hamburger but it’s gauche to put it on steak? It’s all cow meat and it all tastes good with ketchup.
The man knows how to work a room
The trusses are magnificant
Oh! didn’t see the menu in the article *good thing! :-)* Candied bacon is good. Toss the strip of un-fried bacon in brown sugar, bake it till caramelized and serve. Yum Yum. Chocolate covered bacon is also seen on occasion - like bacon stirrers seen at some bars. All this bacon on menus must be the reason ‘they’ now report America is suffering from a bacon shortage. Thanks for the h/t
Exactly! He’s just as comfortable eating a McDONALDs Cheeseburger and fries. Remembering the pic taken during the campaign with him on his jet about tho partake of his noon meal.
A lot of people put it on their scrambled eggs. That never struck me as good, but a little hot sauce might...
Well, he ordered it well done. What else could you do to it?
I LOVE Ketchup. I will put ketchup on some steak or A-1.
I just ate at Texas Road House yesterday. I had my 23 oz Porterhouse steak, medium rare, with the sauteed mushrooms and onions. No ketchup required. DELICIOUS!
I agree. More than “a tip”.
GREAT article, photos, etc. I smiled all the way through as well. This had to have been planned by Trump.
“Years ago I remember Trump telling someone that meatloaf was his favorite dinner.”
Mmmmmmmmmmmm SMOTHERED in ketchup!
We don’t need to tell security how to protect the president.
I’m confident that they know what they are doing and don’t need any advice from us.
Let’s make Trump into “BubbleBoy”. Then he could be safe.
The piece lays out the fact that the hotel dining room is a target rich environment, even without the president.
