Muhammad Ali's son detained at Florida airport for his 'Arabic-sounding name'

In a shocking development, it has been revealed that the son of legendary boxer Muhammad Ali was detained for hours by immigration officials earlier this month at a Florida airport, and was repeatedly asked about his religion.

Muhammad Ali Jr, 44, and his mother, Khalilah Camacho-Ali, the first wife of Muhammad Ali, were arriving at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport on February 7 after an event in Jamaica, when they were pulled aside while going through customs because of their 'Arabic-sounding names', reports the USA Today quoting Ali's family friend and lawyer Chris Mancini.

Camacho-Ali was let go after she showed them a photo of herself with her ex-husband, however, her son was not so lucky as he was badgered for two straight hours, where he was repeatedly asked 'Where did you get your name from?' and 'Are you Muslim?'

When Ali Jr responded that yes, he is a Muslim, the officers kept questioning him about his religion and where he was born.

Mancini said he and the Ali family are contemplating filing a federal lawsuit and are currently trying to find out how many other people have been subjected to the same treatment as Ali Jr.

"Imagine walking into an airport and being asked about your religion. This is classic customs profiling," he said.

Mancini also emphasised that the line of questioning was clearly designed to produce answers that corroborate what officials want to hear, adding that neither Camacho-Ali nor Ali Jr have ever been subjected to detainment before, despite extensive global travel experience.

"To the Ali family, it's crystal clear that this is directly linked to Mr Trump's efforts to ban Muslims from the United States," Mancini said, referring to President Trump's executive order signed Jan 27 that instituted a ban for citizens of seven predominantly Muslim countries.

Meanwhile, Trump promised the nation on Friday that his administration is working on a 'brand new action' that will foil attempts by potential terrorist elements from entering the United States.

Addressing the Conservative Political Action Conference, the President emphasised that he will not disappoint Americans.

White House officials have said a new immigration ban will be released shortly after his first one sparked protests and faced a blockade in court, reports the Guardian.

You tell me. There was a thread on FR about a year ago about 9/11 report or excerpts of it. Did you read it? If not, try to find it, read it and let me know.

‘72 Munich Olympics and first WTC attacks were not on a scale as 9/11. Certainly there has never been an Islamic Terrorist attack on a scale of 9/11 on US soil before that event.

Equally, there was never a gradual and steady rolling back of civil liberties, hysteria and continuous fear in the West because of Islamic Terrorism prior to 9/11.

Since 9/11, we’ve had 2 major wars (Iraq and Afghanistan, still continuing, after 15 years, with no resolution in sight. Not to mention Syria, Yemen and Libya. We’ve been perpetually at war for the last 15 years.

All the above are significant. Hopefully your professed knowledge of history and awareness of current events serve you well.

And, if the US was in fact concerned about ‘Islamic Terrorism’ and ROP, we wouldn’t have bombed Christian serbs, arming the mujahedin in Afghanistan, a group of which later turned into the Taliban, as well as helping the Islamic Regime come to power in Iran - all prior to 9/11.

My point is as I said previously, most Islamic terrorism is regionally focused (except those who claim to belong to “ISIS” & “Al Qaeda”, entities that did not exist before 9/11). We need to move out of the ME and the muslim world, not add fuel to fire.

Too late; they're moving here.

Of course, you know that.

Well, obviously you don’t want to bother reading the 9/11 report posted on FR to have a civilized discussion. Your threats and language don’t bother me, but leave a great deal to be desired and reveal much about you.

I’d go further and say they may already be inside the country.

If you read the content of the link in #34, although the findings are said to be ‘incomplete’, it suggests more of an inside threat.

Of course, that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t tighten up on border control.

Just answer the question, sweetie, what happened on 9/11? If you once again avoid answering this direct question it will prove 2 things - you’re a Truther nut and you’re gutless.

As the world becomes ever more connected, the terrorism will reach every corner of the globe (and arguably already has. Islam in general will never give up it's aim toward world domination and the extermination of all other creeds. I don't dismiss terror events as localized, as though they are somehow less of a threat to our very existence the further they are from us. I see Islamic terror as a continuation of Jihad, as the extension of the rampage of killing of non-Muslims that has gone on for 1,400 years and claimed at least 270 million lives. We must respond accordingly.

All you say is correct.
And I don’t want us to add further fuel to fire in relation to Islamic Terrorism and radicalize the muslims. Unfortunately, thus far, we have; at least in the muslim world. This must stop.

Most lefties don’t give a damn what real Americans think, so I’m not surprised that you would say that, little girl.
