‘72 Munich Olympics and first WTC attacks were not on a scale as 9/11. Certainly there has never been an Islamic Terrorist attack on a scale of 9/11 on US soil before that event.
Equally, there was never a gradual and steady rolling back of civil liberties, hysteria and continuous fear in the West because of Islamic Terrorism prior to 9/11.
Since 9/11, we’ve had 2 major wars (Iraq and Afghanistan, still continuing, after 15 years, with no resolution in sight. Not to mention Syria, Yemen and Libya. We’ve been perpetually at war for the last 15 years.
All the above are significant. Hopefully your professed knowledge of history and awareness of current events serve you well.
And, if the US was in fact concerned about ‘Islamic Terrorism’ and ROP, we wouldn’t have bombed Christian serbs, arming the mujahedin in Afghanistan, a group of which later turned into the Taliban, as well as helping the Islamic Regime come to power in Iran - all prior to 9/11.
My point is as I said previously, most Islamic terrorism is regionally focused (except those who claim to belong to “ISIS” & “Al Qaeda”, entities that did not exist before 9/11). We need to move out of the ME and the muslim world, not add fuel to fire.
Too late; they're moving here.
Of course, you know that.
As the world becomes ever more connected, the terrorism will reach every corner of the globe (and arguably already has. Islam in general will never give up it's aim toward world domination and the extermination of all other creeds. I don't dismiss terror events as localized, as though they are somehow less of a threat to our very existence the further they are from us. I see Islamic terror as a continuation of Jihad, as the extension of the rampage of killing of non-Muslims that has gone on for 1,400 years and claimed at least 270 million lives. We must respond accordingly.
