Valid point, Lincoln grew up in Illinois. The same cannot be said of Obama.

On a related note, Indiana has had more Vice Presidents than any other state and even has its own "Dan Quayle Vice Presidential Museum" with exhibits on the previous five Vice Presidents. I imagine they will add a "Mike Pence wing" in the future.

I’m sure more than a few loons in IL would like to replace “Land O’Lincoln” with “Land O’bama.”

Indiana was a very important swing (and “Western”) state for a lot of history, that led to a lot of VPs, though Dan Q and Mike Pence continue the tradition.
