San Francisco Chronicle ^ | Febuary 22, 2017 | Prashant Gopal

In San Francisco, an Indian software engineer on a work permit canceled plans to bid on a $900,000 home. In Washington, a Brazilian nonprofit executive passed on a fixer-upper near her office. And, in Mesa, Arizona, a 24-year-old son of undocumented Mexican immigrants won the trust of a bank -- a green light for a mortgage -- but now fears deportation.

Why IronJack COULD be elected president of Bolivia.
Why invisible monkeys COULD break into your corn crib.
Why that growth on your shoulder COULD be a second head.

When I was a journalist (ages ago, trust me), I was told there were two words that must never appear in a news headline: “could” and “should.” One was speculation; one was advocacy.

Neither was news.

Typical liberal headline. They could have used:

Trump's Immigration Policies Give US Citizens Lower Housing Costs

Obviously, fewer buyers will cause property values to fall and it will not only happen in San Francisco but in every other viable real estate market.

However, it will also push more people into the rental market and increase prices in rental property.

Dunno why on earth anybody would want to live in kalifornistan but, their prices need to drop anyway.

As far as the rest of the country, if lower housing prices result from ridding the country of criminals living here, so be it. How much might we save in social service and law enforcement costs if the crimigrant invaders leave? How much might we save if we get rid of the devotees to the death cult, aka iSlime?

If they were reporting on Obama it might read: “Obama immigration plan could lead to more affordable housing for the poor”.

Guide to Proper propaganda phrasing for MSM when price of something changes:

* Price goes down, Republican in office: "Values go down"

* Price goes down, Democrat in office: "Becomes more affordable"

* Price goes up, Republican in office: "Becomes less affordable"

* Price goes up, Democrat in office: "Values rise"

In San Francisco, an Indian software engineer on a work permit canceled plans to bid on a $900,000 home.

Not affected by Trump's EO.

In Washington, a Brazilian nonprofit executive passed on a fixer-upper near her office.

Not affected by Trump's EO.

And, in Mesa, Arizona, a 24-year-old son of undocumented Mexican immigrants won the trust of a bank -- a green light for a mortgage -- but now fears deportation.

If the son is a citizen, not affected by Trump's EO. If the son is also undocumented, he has reason to worry, and I don't feel bad about it.

I checked on my house a few weeks ago. It had increased in value by $3,000 in one month.

> More globalist scare tactics.

Yeah as in scaring realtors who will earn less in commissions and bankers who wont be able to repossess and resell homes for a higher profit....

The left tells us unemployment is an opportunity to do things we normally couldnt do.

More people will be able to afford homes if home prices drop a little.

More affordable for buyers, but less profitable for home owners.

The Indian engineer and Brazilian executive have nothing to worry about since they are here LEGALLY. The “poor” undocumented migrant who “won the trust of the bank” (gotta love that spin) needs to get the Hell out of here. He has no business buying a house in the US.

Great news, I can buy a house.

People are stupid to bid on million dollar house when they are on work permit.
In 2001 and 2008, these people just left country when they lost job, we Tax payers paid their bills.
These idiots left BMW at the SFO. and now they are back buying houses.

H1B people are favored by some businesses because they can get away w/paying them less.

So even if a relatively high paid H1B exists, their US counterparts make more.

This falls under the “either you’re stupid, or you think we’re stupid” category.

I smell desperation.
