So, Milo is not culpable for his actions because he can blame it all on being abused by a priest when he was 15 . . . and that is why he speaks vulgar language and jokes about sleeping with black men - but we that are Christians are very culpable and deserving of censor because we believe what God has written about those that he condemns? Blaming an individual’s actions on his environment is a liberal charade . . . and one that despises the God of the Bible is certainly no one to condemn another, for they are condemned already.
Your skewed interpretation of the Word of God is indeed pitiful.
Yes, your words are pitiful; and so, by extension - are you.
There is a great deal to what you say.
Though as I mentioned too in an earlier post, that were he not trading on his homosexuality, he most likely would not be nearly as widely known.
There is a distinct difference in these two frames.
I have no idea what you mean, Elsie. Let me know, and please be succinct.

I just listened to the comments that have brought him so much trouble:
1. He talks about the effect pedophilia had on him.
2. Then he denounced it as a disease.
I’m still wondering what the fuss is about. Somebody help me here?
Excellent post.
Christ loves all, do you? I pray for him, would you? Or would you hate him, I can’t know what is in your heart. I was only observing some hearts seemed to be hateful.
Thumbs up too.
I agree. I’ve seen enough evidence of Milo’s conviction re: his conservative/libertarian political philosophy and dedication to Freedom of Speech, that he will not back down.
Dear Albion, I appreciate this link to Fencing Bear. I just read it and have bookmarked it to read right down the column when I have time.
Looks like an excellent find. Thank you!
I thought of you the minute I read her bio. Have missed talking with you in the leisurely old days before the primaries, election and subsequent attempts at revolution, dear FRiend! Hope you are completely recovered these days and feeling great!
The Bible is clear that judgment belongs to the Lord.
It is entirely possible to hold two ideas in mind at one time: such as that a person has valuable gifts and insights to share that benefit the conservative political community AND that the same person is struggling with a serious personality defect with origins in childhood abuse.
In other words, love the sinner, hate the sin.
Funny you should post this, because the notion of “holding two ideas in mind at one time” has come to my mind often, during the past few days.
It was F. Scott Fitzgerald who said or wrote (maybe it was in ‘The Crackup’):
“The test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposed ideas in mind at the same time and still retain the ability to function.”
We are living in complicated times.

So true!
Why do you judge this to be so?
I guess my veiled replies in 61,62 and 63 have confused folks.
The straight men delivered really good lines to riff into staements about homosexuals; but I chose not to do so.
Sure do!
His sin(s) are no worse than mine.
Like THIS???
D&C 49:18-19 18 And whoso forbiddeth to abstain from meats, that man should not eat the same, is not ordained of God; |
|
D&C 89:12-13
12 Yea, flesh also of beasts and of the fowls of the air, I, the Lord, have ordained for the use of man with thanksgiving; nevertheless they are to be used sparingly; |
Because rather than admit that I do not believe the constant barrage of homosexual threads is in keeping with the site’s stated vision that it is for God, for country, for family and for morality - he assumes wrongly that I am condemning Milo’s soul to hell.
That is not my job - but it appears that some would rather use Alinsky’s rules against their fellow FReepers than to make a stand for Jim’s site.
You won’t get much help here
Scorn and lectures or high fives or hugs
But help no
