An antiracist poster in a college writing center insists American grammar is racist and an unjust language structure, promising to prioritize rhetoric over grammatical correctness.'
The poster, written by the director, staff, and tutors of the University of Washington, Tacomas Writing Center, states racism is the normal condition of things, declaring that it permeates rules, systems, expectations, in courses, school and society.
Linguistic and writing research has shown clearly for many decades that there is no inherent standard of English, proclaims the writing centers statement. Language is constantly changing. These two facts make it very difficult to justify placing people in hierarchies or restricting opportunities and privileges because of the way people communicate in particular versions of English.
In the introduction to its commitment section, the Tacoma Writing Center pledges to listen and look carefully and compassionately for ways we may unintentionally perpetuate racism or social injustice, actively engaging in antiracist practices before making nine specific promises to students.

This is an old battle showing up in a new way:
“I am afraid we are not rid of God because we still have faith in grammar.” F. Nietzsche
Go find their own damn country. Then these jackwagons can make up their own gutter language too.
I sure wouldn’t want any of my kids speaking like complete idiots like they are.
I think I slept through fifth grade grammar. In college, I had a rhetoric instructor who gave me A+ for content and F for spelling and grammar (sometimes multiples of each)...before spell check and grammar alerts in Word. We handwrote essays in class 3x/week. Yes, I am old.
Now, I need to constantly re-check comma use. And guess what? A lot of modern grammar is up to the writer. Comma rules are partially fixed and immutable and partially contested, even by *experts*. This leads me to avoid them wherever possible.
All FReepers must learn to use the latest politically correct pronouns. So what exactly are you, silverleaf? He, She, Ze, They, or Vulcan?
"Hell" is an exlamatory, not an independent clause, and should not be set off by a semicolon.
"Most of us always knew that" and "We even have grammar police" are examples of independent clauses and may either be separated by a semicolon or broken into two separate sentences.
But I suspect you already knew that.
These people are trying to create a two-class society—people who speak English like most of us do now, and those who speak some unintelligible urban patois.
There will be no way for the second class of people to go but DOWN!!!!
Fortunately, under Trump, the inner cities will begin to be fixed, crime will go down, and their residents will have JOBS, better education, and better housing. They will have NO INTEREST in leftists schemes designed to keep them on the Dim plantation!!

Boy, I guess THEY feel real stupid for the time\$$ for their ‘degree’. Since it doesn’t matter, no need for directors/staff/tutors, I guess have turned in their resignation(s), no?
Educating by making sure people are u educated.
How much fun would it be every time you heard people talking like that you just give them “the look” and say in a perfect british accent “Excuse me sir, would it at all kill your retarded ass to speak english?”. Yes, I do carry.

Language is constantly changing.
1984 book gave a warning to that retraining in action.
When he was growing up in the 1940s, he and his friends spoke in jive, or hip-hop, or whatever slang was called at the time.
He said: we knew damn well how to speak proper English.
We just didn't feel like it.
I have never seen anything as stupid in my life as this crap....no wonder our children don’t know what the heck they are doing!!!
“I have an apple and I gave my apple to Johnny. Johnny said: “Thank you” and I replied: “Your welcome.”
WHO could understand that mess?
"It was hirs apple"?
Sounds like cat-speak.
I can haz cheezburger?

When my wife was in California last year, theyZ were instructing her on the proper way to refer to ze trans or xe whatever. Very seriously.
And that consistency also ties us more strongly to the past as our forbears appear to be much like ourselves. The Left strives to cut us off from our true history and always seeks to demonize heros from the past.
