The Mercury News reported that two California lawmakers Friday introduced legislation to replace private insurance with a government-run health care system covering all 38 million Californians—including its undocumented residents.

“We’ve reached this pivotal moment,” Sen. Ricardo Lara (D-Bell Gardens), told the Mercury News in an interview Friday, “and I thought to myself: `Look, now more than ever is the time to talk about universal health care.’”

The article went on to report that the proposal dubbed the ‘Healthy California Act’, introduced by Lara and former Assembly Speaker, now State Senator Toni Atkins, (D-San Diego) — was submitted just before the deadline for new legislation—and for such a sweeping proposal, it remarkably short on specifics.

I think they may have to redirect funds they were going to use to repair the Oroville water control issue, along with other crumbling infrastructure, to fund the new healthcare system that no one else in the US was able to provide for their own residents, let alone all illegal aliens.

The Federal Government should pull all funds from California for Medicare if this happens. To hand out my tax contribution for freeloaders and illegals better not happen. This communists rotten State is beyond redemption as a State under the Constitution.

California loves to pass “in your face” bills that cost taxpayers billions. A few years back it was 3 billion dollars of taxpayer money for stem cell research, shortly after Bush wanted to ban human embryo stem cell research.

Are they going to cover every Mexico citizen who gets here? Honduras, Panama, Brazil, Morocco, Spain, where do they stop?

Will they cover them for emergencies? back surgeries? knee replacements, heart transplants? gender modification? boob jobs?

Like tuition, they will treat someone from Peru better than someone from Nevada. Does anyone in power in California have a brain?

If California is going to become another state of Mexico, then let them flounder and go down.
The Mexicans have received billions upon billions in aid from US taxpayers and it like throwing money down a toilet. It just ends up in the hands of rich Mexicans and drug cartels.

California State Senate President Pro Tem Kevin De Léon (D-Los Angeles) said last Tuesday that “half his family” was in the country illegally, using false documents, and eligible for deportation under President Trump’s new executive order against “sanctuary” jurisdictions.

De Léon, who introduced the bill, made his remarks at a hearing in Sacramento on SB54, the bill to make California a “Sanctuary State.”
