Surprised the perp didn't say "Never mind". Since the car was recovered a few miles from the scene, was it not fully charged? The victim, who also belongs to mares against guns, probably felt somewhat relieved to know that the theft didn't add to the pollution quotient.

Seriously, though, let me guess: Tucson is a sanctuary city?

Why is the mayor provided with a tax paid vehicle? Do they not pay the mayor enough money to buy his own vehicle like the rest of us?

Crime here in Arizona is getting pretty bad. Two teenagers show last week, one about a mile from my house, the other showed up at the hospital about a mile from my house.
I blame our new neighbors from Chicago.
Draw your own conclusions.

The laws of karma would tell us he was carjacked by an illegal.

So where was the mayor going on Saturday morning in his tax payer paid vehicle?

Why does the NYC mayor get a mansion? We “perk” cars to various government officials all the time. At least it’s not a limo with a driver.

Low carbon footprint, only one horsepower.

I have a HS classmate who retired from being a sea-going tugboat captain to a place in North Tucson. He says he tries not to ever go into Tucson proper, but when he’s forced to, he always “carries!”

We perk cars to various government officials all the time. Why? And who is, "We"?

Yes, sorry. I wish we could edit on here. My brain tends to read what was intended rather than what is typed.

At least the criminal didn’t have a big carbon footprint during his rampage.

Because that’s how government works. We is taxpayers. Look it up in your own city, dollars to donuts says your city has a motor pool and a good chunk of those cars are “checked out” by various city workers for personal use. And of course it’s always the higher up workers who don’t need a free car.

Because thats how government works.
Oh I see. They get tax paid cars and tax paid gasoline while the rest of us who pay the bloated salaries, are required to purchase our own vehicles, gas and insurance because, "That's the way government works".
Thanks for clearing things up for the stupid peon tax payers.

Welcome to reality. That’s the way things have worked since long before you were born, and it’s how they’ll keep working long after you’re plant food.

Ya know, since the mayor has made the city so safe, maybe they should reward him even more and give him a helicopter or maybe a stretch presidential limousine.
It’s probably the least we can do for him.
