President Donald Trumps constant fear-mongering about terrorism is irresponsible and dangerous. He needs to stop attacking the legitimacy of the judiciary. He picked an attorney general with anti-liberty positions on surveillance and police seizure of property.
Those tough assessments come not from one of the presidents critics in the Democratic Party, but from a conservative Republican House member whose district decisively backed Mr. Trump in the election.
Rep. Justin Amash of Michigan has emerged as one of the leading Republican critics of the president, using a tool Mr. Trump himself often employsan assertive presence on Twitterto challenge and even taunt the president. While other House Republicans who were skeptical of Mr. Trump during the presidential campaign have since toned down their criticism, Mr. Amash, who has 100,000 Twitter followers, has remained a vocal critic.

Amash is a Liberaltarian, aka...a liberal puke.
Just give him a sack of dope to smoke with his queer boyfriend and he will shut up for awhile.
“Looks like we are really late in putting in extreme vetting. This trash came here in 1956.”
The Opecker Princes started sending the trash from the middle east to America and buying professors and legislators at about that time.
Reverend (G.D. America) Wright also says he is a Christian . . .
meh
And what has Amash done to stop terrorism, bring back jobs, kill obozo care, or get illegal immigration under control? He can pound sand
stop attacking the legitimacy of the judiciary.
That right there is laughable. The activist judiciary is destroying its legitimacy all by itself. It isn’t Trump that’s doing it.
Especially when you have those militant left wing ideologue judges making law from the bench. They need to be tar and feathered then burned at the stake.
American by birth, Fakestinian by the will of Allah. :-)
Just so all of you know and understand, one of Amash’s concerns is the taking by the gov’t of personal property. Another bit of info you might want to know is that his PRIMARY supporter/mentor/backer is the DeVos family...that’s right, the one and only Betsy DeVos and her family. I am somewhat overwhelmed at the comments so far.
What the hell is a donna Edwards. Teeth like that she probably chews down trees.
Not needed. Quit being a showboat, Amash.
Interesting how he diverges from Rand Paul.
Rand is keen to be part of the mainstream party and thus is supportive of the President, while Amash has gone full L Ron.
Those of us who have long been critical of Amash should feel vindicated.
I've been wondering if his fanclub here will hold him accountable for that and stop screaming "GOPE! GOPE!! GOPE!!!" at anyone who dares challenge Amash in the primary.
Not holding my breathe on that, though. I fully expect the "tea party" crowd will give Amash a pass next time around because he screams loudly about being a "constitutionalist" while stabbing conservatives in the back.
You know who else is being an a-hole?
Mark Sanford. We liked him for his votes against pork while in Congress the first time and fighting corruption in SC as Governor and some us wanted him to run for President before that “hiking” nonsense. But I recall he was a McCain lover in 2000, and his ACU rating was curiously low IRRC.
Disappointing. I’ms starting to think I was mistaken for ever thinking highly of him. He needs to be primaired out and permanently retired. Make him Ambassador to Argentina maybe.
Sanford pledged a 3-term limit back during his first time in Congress. He kept his word. He is now in his 3rd (6th) term this time around. I hope he retires in Jan 2019.
I'd say the same for Jason Chaffetz of Utah. Looking at it in hindsight, there was a LOT in this guy's background to give one pause (campaign manager/chief of staff for odious RINO Jon Huntsman, son-in-law of Kitty Dukakis, etc.) but I remember this forum totally bought that the guy was a principled conservative savior when he ran against Chris Cannon.
Looking back on it, I'd rather have Cannon win. At least that guy was HONEST about his support for amnesty and was OTHERWISE an across the board, solid conservative). That Chaffetz guy is a slimey two-faced toad.
As for Mark Sanford, he was simply overrated, in the same way the narrative on FR was "Lindsey Graham is pure evil RINO scum and Jim DeMint is an outstanding conservative hero who is pure as driven snow" at the same time DeMint was actively endorsing and campaigning for the eeeeeeeeeeeeeevil RINO in the primary.
