It is an interesting sequence of events.
It is considered "fashionable" to some people to surround themselves with these oddities and then complain when things don't go according to script.

When I did a job up in Boston I met women who used these freaks as like a trophy. they loved to brag they had a homosexual friend.
One women in a bar told me I had to be introduced to a guy who had walked in. She said he was a woman. He was about 6ft 2 looked like a proper freak too. I declined to meet him, and then she brought him over to me. yes I refused to shake his hand, and I walked away letting him know what I thought.
Have not been back to Boston in years, and have no intention of ever doing so
