The Finger Lakes Times got "freeped" last week
Late Monday afternoon, as always, we put up our online poll question for last week: What kind of grade would you give Donald Trump for the job he's done in his first few weeks as president?
The answers were A, B, C, D and F. Simple enough, right?
A normal poll for us usually draws 200-300 votes; a really heavily trafficked one about a hot local issue might pull in 400-500. We noticed right away. So did our readers.
Managing Editor Chuck Schading, who administers our website, did some research and learned that we had been "freeped."
Our poll had been up less than half an hour when someone alerted the freepers at Free and quickly it was linked to that site with a call to all its fans to "FREEP THIS POLL ... hit it hard folks!"
Despite all the early "A" votes for our president, by Friday, as I write this, the "F's" have not only caught up but gone ahead.
We learned later that our poll also had made its way out on Facebook, and votes were pouring in from hundreds of folks who are decidedly not Trump fans. To wit, a comment from a reader : "I received an e mail telling me about this poll. It instructed me to vote 'F.'
I can't forecast what will happen today, after which we'll take the poll down, but as of noon Saturday, here are the poll results:
A -1,584 votes
B -197 votes
C -39 votes
D -85 votes
F -1,697 votes
And to all... of you -freepers and otherwise -who took the time to visit our website and cast a vote: Thank you.

When Freeping these polls, you need to copy the link and close your browser. Then paste the link on startup to complete the poll.
You need to do this to clean out the URL Referrer address else they will know you came straight from FreeRepublic.
Nasty women gonna stank.
Isn’t FReeped supposed to be capitalized?
1697 F votes are not from FReepers. This smells.
Shared it with a FB group I belong to...

186,516 members... Should be good for more that few votes :)
whiteleather posted over there, “I received an e-mail telling me about this poll. It instructed me to vote “F”.
What is the demographics or the finger lakes?
2699 to 2150
Cursive! Foiled again.
Time to re-freep! One poll is still active. butthurt comments mention FR! good job folks.
Depends where in the Finger Lakes you are.
You can easily see Syracuse and Ithaca, although the Syracuse area is not hard core liberal. Our congressman, John Katko, is a very strong Republican.
From wikipedia
He ran against Dan Maffei in the United States House of Representatives elections, 2014 and was declared the winner on November 4, 2014, by 20 percentage points the largest margin of defeat suffered by an incumbent in the cycle.[6]
Katko ran for re-election in 2016. He ran unopposed in the Republican primary.[7] He faced Democrat Colleen Deacon, U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand's former district director for Central New York, in the November 2016 general election.[8] Katko was re-elected with 61% of the vote.[9]
There are more guns and cows in the Finger Lakes area than people.
There are liberal enclaves but most of the area is remote and some areas are downright desolate.
I know it's not what people come to expect from NY, but we conservatives are here.
Well I know one thing - it is largely conservative. Ithaca being the obvious exception.
I am an hour out from that area. My county is pretty solid conservative also.
Is that anything like “the frequency”?
Go and doeth thou likewise.
Hoo Yah !!!!
