McCain On Explosive Trump Dossier: 'The Russians Do Use Women And Sex' (Barf)
TPM ^ | February 18, 2017 | By Matt Shuham

Posted on 02/18/2017 9:40:21 PM PST by Brad from Tennessee

Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) said in an interview published Saturday that he takes Russian meddling in the 2016 election “more seriously than a physical attack.”

He also said that he "didn’t know what to make" of an explosive, and still largely unsubstantiated, dossier which alleged the Russian government had compromising information on President Donald Trump.

In a cover story for New York magazine published online Saturday, McCain projected a hawkish stance on Russia and said Russian interference in the American election had risked undermining “the foundation of democracy.”

“The severity of this issue, the gravity of it, is so consequential because if you succeed in corrupting an election, then you’ve destroyed the foundation of democracy,” McCain told the publication. “So I view it with the utmost seriousness. I view it more seriously than a physical attack. I view it more seriously than Orlando, or San Bernardino."

McCain also said the Trump administration still had questions to answer about the circumstances surrounding former national security adviser Michael Flynn's ouster, which he called a sign of "dysfunction."

“When did Flynn know about anything to do with Russian interference?” he asked. “Why was there a gap of X number of days between the president being told and no action taken? What is the extent of the relationship between Flynn and the Russians?”

And, referring to the now-public (and still largely unsubstantiated) “dossier” on Trump, which alleged among other things that the Russian government could have compromising information on the President, McCain did not dismiss it out-of-hand.

“I didn’t know what to make of it, but everyone knows the Russians do use women and sex when people go to Russia,” he said. “It’s an old KGB honeypot. . ."

John McCain is a very sick man. He craves the attention and love of the press. He gets his rocks off on it and will do anything to get it, including stabbing his own party in the back.

Worse yet, he is a beat dog. He thought the media loved him and naively assumed they would support him or cover him fairly during his Presidential campaign. Instead, they turned on him and treated him worse than garbage. Yet despite this harsh lesson he continues to treat the media as if they are a friend of his and he continues to narcissisticly thrive off of making them happy. It is like watching an abused spouse.

Finally, the man is a warmonger. He has not met a situation where he doesn’t want to commit our nation to a fight. How man times have we heard this guy say the expression “boots on the ground?”

Yes, Senator McCain is a sick man.

...what EXACTLY did the Russians do to tamper with our election?...

The FBI has already told us that the Russians did not tamper with vote counts.

However, Jill Stein's recount has brought out the fact that someone did tamper with our vote counts in 2016. 70% of Detroit precincts had more votes than voters. The worst one had 6 times more votes than voters. And the culprit was...the Democrat Party.

If I were running for local dog-catcher, and someone in an adjoining county released the information that I had once pled guilty to animal cruelty, would that constitute “interfering” in an election?

Well McCain was certainly the one who was caught last week on the phone with a guy who he thought was a Russian ambassador and who turned out to be Russia's Howard Stern. And guess what he was talking about? Sanctions.

I noticed talking points tonight were that McCain is just one of growing number of republicans backing away from President. Looks like a plan to me, establishment ambush.

Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) said in an interview published Saturday that he takes Russian meddling in the 2016 election “more seriously than a physical attack.”

Then that outrageous statement puts McCain in the same category as the NYT's #nevertrumper Thomas Friedman who had the colossal arrogance to write:
"We need to rerun the tape. Ladies and gentlemen, we were attacked on Dec. 7, 1941, we were attacked on Sept. 11, 2001, and we were attacked on Nov. 8, 2016.

That most recent attack didn’t involve a horrible loss of lives, but it was devastating in its own way. Our entire intelligence community concluded that Russia hacked our election by deliberately breaking into Democratic National Committee computers and then drip-by-drip funneling embarrassing emails through WikiLeaks to undermine Clinton’s campaign. And what have we done about it? Other than a wrist slap against Moscow, we’ve moved on."

THE ENEMY WITHIN.
McCAIN HAS OFFICIALLY JOINED THE ENEMY.
SHAME ON HIM.

I think them backing away is related to the secret briefing Comey gave the intelligence committed while Trump and Pence were both away from DC.

Pretty damn bad. A lie about Russia “meddling” in our election is worse for us than 9/11?

The DNC and Podesta’s emails were so wide open it is hard to say who hacked it. Hell a teenaged kid hacked Jeh Johnson’s and John Brenners email accounts awhile back.

The fact that it was such a low bar makes eliminating possibilities almost impossible.

Trump should Ignore him. McCain is looking for attention. Don’t feed his aging ego. Treating him like he’s irrelevant will put him in his place better. McCain may believe he is deserving of respect based on his resume. But, he will be judged by his actions and he knows it. The truth will come out concerning his poor decisions and he wants the media to go easy on him.

John McCain has always been a traitor. He tried to give credibility to the Buzzfeed dossier. It was a fraud recognizable on the first page. “Sensative Sources” are never classified “Confidential.” His Libyan “heroes” turned out to br ISIS.

WHY would a would a billionaire, widely known as a germaphobe, cheat on his supermodel wife (who he repeatedly flew home to while he was on the campaign trail), with Russian hookers playing watersports in the bed he was supposed to sleep in?

McCain perceives himself as untouchable. Doesn’t he remember the powers the Patriot Act gives to the President to take out terrorists, foreign and domestic? Thin ice, John-boy.

You’re too kind about McCain. If he spread any intel secrets, that’s Sedition. He’s speaking against our President at a meeting on foreign soil the US is participating in, that should get him censure by the US Senate and kicked of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. He funneled US weapons to known terrorists in Syria....that should be a trial at the Hague.
