The Japanese Navy was apparrently very controlled by Admiral Yamamota re fleet movements and big attacks. Once the battles began apparently the control sifted to the local commanders.

That control and lack of radio security ended Yamamota life/career later in the war when his plane was shot down.

Yamamoto was shot down after American code-breakers found out he was planning to visit troops stationed off Bougainville.

This is great. Shows the rat's Kamikazi potus candidate in full battle scarf!

Good, I had forgotten about Yamamoto's plane being shot down.

The movie, Midway, with Charlton Heston, is a wonderful recreation of the battle as seen from both sides.

The flip side of the Hillary pic is this Trump pic taken from the Battle of Okinawa where the USS Intrepid successfully fought off kamikaze attacks.

My Dad was there at the battle as a gunner's mate aboard an LST. He said to us kids, "If anybody says he wasn't scared, he wasn't there."

This book is the definitive tale of the Modway saga. It makes much of what was written and what you think you know obsolete.
