Lucky you. We have Bermuda and crab grasses here and AH-CHOO! Dang the luck y’all having something as bad a s ragweed in the spring. That stuff wears me out every fall.
We have a weed coming up now called henbit and it’s all over the farm. But hey, it’s something green, not drab brown! And it does have pretty little flowers when you look at them up close.
The one thing that has kept me from ever wanting to move to the west is the lack of greenery. The desert has its own beauty but I’d be so depressed without all the green and colors we have here. Just the few months of winter are bad enough.
Believe me, I’ve lived here for YEARS and I still get depressed when the summer heat burns everything to a crisp because people don’t want to either waste water or money on watering plants. During our horrible drought of about 3 years ago, so many trees and bushes died that it was just sad!
Nearly made my eyes water when you mentioned the Bermuda and crab grass! I had never esperienced ragweed till we went to Missouri last fall. Holy ah-choo, Batman! That stuff is potent!
