No government employee should take vacations at taxpayer expense. No weekend holidays on the people’s dime. Pretty simple. As much as I like and appreciate Donald Trump, the same applies to him.
The Washington Post bitching about the Trump family’s “elaborate lifestyle”? That’s pretty damned rich ain’t it? I don’t recall them having a thing to say about the incredible cost of the Obamas’ vacations, some of which were taken with a battalion-size force of their “friends” and political allies and some of which were taken without Hussein himself.
One very positive effect of Trump’s election is that it’s revealing the media for exactly who they are and it’s especially encouraging to see that neither the media nor the Democratic Party itself have a clue why Trump won.
Now liberals are concerned about prudence in public spending.
What a knee slapper. Under Obama, none of that was ever a concern.

Trump’s sons have SS wherever they are so what. And they likely are flying on company money not taxpayer. And Trump isn’t taking a large salary and Melania does not have the huge staff Moochele had so they save us money.
Trump works on the weekends.
To be sure, he hits the golf course with guests.
But considering he works full time during the week for a pittance, he can indulge a little.
Obama never put in a full week’s work and the media never called him on it.

Trump’s comments yesterday are quite correct, the people see stuff like this, they know what it is, they know it’s hypocrisy. They are tired of it.

I remember Laura Bush saying living in the WH was not a free ride. The Bush family was responsible for personal expenses, including groceries for the private quarters.
I would be shocked if President Trump turned personal expenses into official expenses, unlike his predecessor.
But none of these articles will explore the breakdown of expenses & payments. Doesn't fit the narrative.
BTW-Presidents are now expected to remain in DC because of the cost to municipalities if POTUS comes to town? God, I loathe these people.
