Six White House staffers were marched out of the building on Thursday after they failed national security background checks.
Politico reported that the unlucky half-dozen included one who was the president's director of scheduling.
Caroline Wiles is also the daughter of Susan Wiles, a former chief of staff to Florida Gov. Rick Scott and the Trump campaign's director in Florida.

You fail the E quip and out you go!
Whatever....
This from the same bunch who cleared tax cheats, deadbeats, and towel snapping perverts. Timmy Geithner really was amazing.
Too bad they don’t require such checks of candidates running for office?
Bottom line, even if the previous administrations were given the benefit of the doubt, you can’t expect that for your choices.
It’s a raw but legit deal. They’re holding us to our standards, while we give them a pass.
This is Obama’s posse causing trouble for Trump. Count on 8 years of this **** on a regular basis.
At the Whitehouse I doubt this is possible!
The standards should be applied equally. Someone adjudicates the issue. It seems that those who are not getting clearances probably know that they don’t meet the standard.
Do you think Bill Clinton could have gotten a clearance prior to running for office?
Does anyone think Obama would have passed an FBI background check. Hell, he wouldn’t have passed the drug test.
Standard SF86 check. Nothing new.
Benefit of the doubt!? Neither The Secretary of State nor the previous president could have passed the basic security clearance required of a private 1cC joining the Army at the suggestion of his parole officer
An emphatic NO!!"Unlimited Access: An FBI Agent Inside the Clinton White House"
1996 Book by Gary Aldrich
The wording is incorrect on this issue. It’s not that a person fails an SF86 like it was a test. When the information the applicant fills out on the SF86, during the security check does not match up with discovery then the red flag is fed back to the management with a recommendation depending on severity. It might be a simple typo or accidental omission with is easily adjusted. An outright red flag rejection means a deliberate attempt to deceive has been detected.
Where I worked until retirement it was a precondition that you be able to pass a background check and receive a minimum of a SECRET clearance within 6 months of hiring. Otherwise, bye bye.
Lying on the form is the same as lying to a federal investigator (e.g., FBI). Applicants are warned of this and potential penalties.
I agree with most of your summary. However, there are some disqualifying things right out the gate. For instance, and not related in any way to these people, membership in the communist party used to rule people out. Lying about it would have been even worse, of course. But, just to be accurate, you cannot say you’ve done certain crimes either.
I am glad that finally, an administration is following standards!
