It has been a day of turmoil for President Trump, who after finding himself on the defensive following Monday's resignation by Mike Flynn (which may or may not lead to legal charges) and allegedly getting snubbed by Vladimir Putin, now has another potential crisis on his hands: according to both the FT and CBS, Trump's pick for National Security Advisor, Robert Harward - a senior executive at Lockheed Martin - has turned down the President's offer, citing "obvious dysfunctionality" in the administration.
According to the FT, it is not yet a complete rejection as "Trump is trying to convince his preferred candidate to succeed Michael Flynn as national security adviser to change his mind after the retired admiral tapped for the role told the US president that he could not accept the White House position."

I think Harward saw how easily he could get fired.
He would be good.
Not a good week for DJT.
You:
1.) Did not see the news conference.
2.) Have accepted MSM version of reality.

Not a very smart move for a “senior executive” at Lockheed Martin.
Perhaps Boykin will apply.
I was leery of his ties to the Rand Corporation. But why would he go public with his reasons in public like this? Sounds like somewhat of a loose cannon.
Every week is bad one for a Cruzlim.
I recall seeing a picture of 3 people in line for National Security. Petraus wasn't in that picture. It was Flynn, Harward and a Big burley dark haired guy if I recall. Anyone know who that is and what happened with him?
After the question session today, it is an excellent week, even if we had a nuclear war.
Today was solid GOLD!!!
There are plenty of qualified people for this advisor position. IMHO, we have too freaking many advisors anyway.
I think Flynn is a fine choice. Not sure about his return after Trump's comments today concerning his exit. At one point they were pretty strong, and Trump mentioned Flynn forgetting to tell Pence about his chat with the Russian Ambassador - Par., since I don't remember Trump's exact statement.
That’s the Financial Times report > Harward declined b/c not allowed to bring in trustworthy people. That would be a must for me, too. Bring in your people & fire the NSC traitors.
I’m thinking this is how he’s vetting. Maybe a good tactic to see who’s running to the media dissing him.
“But all the enemedia will see here is the Flynn, Puzder, and now Harward failures.
And react like red meat to a pack of hungry wolves.”
Yes, like I said, you accept the MSM as running the world. They are doing nothing different than before the election, so don’t expect them to change.
Ditto. And his ties to Lockheed-Martin. That, and the waiting period before lobbying may have weighed on Harward’s decision.
So Ted Cruz is to blame for Flynn, Puzder and now Harward?
smh
Well stated from a professional and industry level view.
Nicely done!
Allen West would be perfect for the job.
I didn’t want Harward anyway. I wanted Giuliani, a prosecuter, to get the liars out first for cause.
the Cruz cult crowd never just shuts up and goes away .
they are like Bill clintons special flare ups he told Monica about .
I picked up on that as soon as I read this.
"Robert Harward - a senior executive at Lockheed Martin - has turned down the President's offer, citing "obvious dysfunctionality" in the administration. According to the FT,".... it is not yet a complete rejection as...."
