The ground is only sacred when it is useful to stop a pipeline. Otherwise it is just where you throw your trash. Liberal earth-worship hypocrisy.

They should order the protestors to come back and pick it up or levy environmental sanctions against their organizations.

They worry trash and debris left behind by people who have left in recent weeks might pollute the Missouri River and other nearby waterways. I hope the Wide Missouri doesn't get gonorrhea.

"With the amount of people that have been out there and the amount of estimated waste and trash out there, there is a good chance it will end up in the river if it is not cleaned up,Article says "trash and debris" but the quote says "waste and trash".
Could he be referring to human waste.

This is not a problem. This is a stark example of government incompetence. One must get a few D8 Caterpillars out their. Pile the debris up and put some of that good Canadian Oil on it. Light the matches and watch you problem ascend into the air as CO2 which is plant food. As an added bonus their might be a liberal environmentalist protestors body in the debris.
In all seriousness, the clean up would be easy. Pile it up and burn it. I well remember when my grandfather cleared land in West Texas for the farm he managed. Just like I said. those D8 Cats will do the job and what those protestors left is very small compared to two square miles of land. He had cleared Mesquite and rocks for two square miles.
They need to do this now. Once the ground is thawed and wet it is hard to operate the big machines.

The Plains Indians moved around a lot.
They had to.
They had no idea about sanitation.
After a couple of weeks in one place, they started getting sick.
So, they moved on.
