But when the cameras are rolling and you’re a 35-year-old woman who should know how much symbols matter it leaves all kinds of uncomfortable questions: What is Ivanka Trump up to, anyway? What is her strange, as-yet-undefined mission in the White House? And, if it’s not too much to ask, where is her stepmother and what has she done with her?
No one envies Melania having to fill Michelle Obama’s shoes — at least some of her reticence is justified. , Michelle Obama set a high watermark in so many areas: mother, wife, style icon, role model to women around the world. She graced the cover of Vogue magazine an unprecedented three times.
Unless Mrs. Trump is personally making hot chocolate for Barron and his friends after school, or is helping him conjugate verbs for his French test, she needs to suit up, face the NYC-D.C. commute, and get in the game.
It only contributes to the worrisome atmosphere of an unstable presidency to have a First Lady who is MIA and a First Daughter — not an actual title, by the way — with an ambiguous but clearly ambitious agenda. As long as the White House continues to explore this strange arrangement without defining it, and without supporting either of these women with the staff required to prevent them from making amateurish gaffes, the world will continue to scrutinize their every move.
It remains to be seen if Ivanka Trump can be a strong presence in her father’s administration — strong in her own right, apart from playing dress-up when world leaders come to call. She has been a brand promoter for so long the transition to public service is bound to be a challenge. Step No. 1 may be getting out of her stepmother’s way.

I’d be making comments, but I wouldn’t have said it wasn’t their right to have her in the Oval Office if they did it respectfully.
Trump has a great working relationship with Ivanka. He trusts her judgement. I respect that.
Until such a time as it hurts us policy wise, I’ll go along with it. When policy goes South because of it, I won’t.
There is one thing already on my radar. She want’s day care to be deductible.
I’ve got mixed thoughts on that. None the less, we did want tax breaks for the middle-class. That’s what this would be. It would help middle-income families, and perhaps even help people on Welfare and the poor get back to work.

Remember also that Chelsea has already been gifted with the management of the family fake-foundation, and she’s also been lofted for the Senate. She turned it down. Whew!

The reason the ‘left’ hates Ivanka so much, is because she is attractive and intelligent.
The left goes berserk about Ivanka.
They seem to have forgotten about Barack Obama having Valarie Jarrett living in the White House like his Den Mother and reportedly conducting business and setting policy as if she was the President.
It was taken during a meeting with business ladies. It was natural to take one. People are making too much ado about this. I do not keep up with Chelsea but does she have her own business?
It sure looked great on the 2nd debate night when after it was all done, Trump & Hillarious were met on stage by their families. Trump’s family was numerous and everyone was good looking - a beautiful wife, a lovely daughter, 2 good-looking sons and a handsome son-in-law, 2 statuesque daughters-in-law, and then there were the Clintons - her pallid husband, homely daughter and son-in-law. Such a sickly looking representation of the country!
President Trump is doing an amazing job, and it is so clear how much he loves and respects his family. He has allowed more cameras and videos of the daily interactions of this White House than any other President in history.
Certainly, previous family members and friends have been allowed to sit in the presidents desk chair in the past ...they just didn't record it. I say, bring all of the children and grandchildren in and photograph them one by one in that chair and then get those pictures out on social media just to drive the press crazy.
