A mercenary air force that became a symbol of the U.S. occupation of Iraq is back in actionthis time in Central Africa, supporting a shadowy American U.S. Special Forces commando operation targeting the Lords Resistance Army.
In late January, a source on the ground in Central African Republic spotted a Sikorsky S-61 helicopter with the registry number N408RC carrying American Special Forces troops. The LRA, a cultish band of thieves and rapists led by warlord Joseph Kony, is most active in the forested region where Central African Republic, South Sudan, and the Democratic Republic of Congo meet.
In 2010, President Barack Obama deployed around 100 Green Berets and other personnel to Central Africa to help local forces hunt down Kony and the LRA. Seven years later, Operation Observant Compass continues, mostly unnoticed by the press. The Pentagon asked Congress for $23 million to extend the operation through 2017.

You can argue we should not be in most of these places (and I often do) but if we are hiring PMCs that's a separate issue. We don't have a large enough military to be in as many places doing all the things we do all over the world ... and that's a good thing IMO.
Eric Prince is AWESOME..!
The USA totally screwed him over, his contracts were BINDERS of maybe 800 pages, even dictating the SUNGLASSES BRAND that his guys would HAVE to wear.
State Dept forbade EVER using low-profile protection (roll light but super stealthy in localized beater cars), preferring to drive around town conspicuously in ambush-magnets.
Prince explained how to quickly and easily stop refugess from flooding Europe —almost all the ones from Africa drive/bus through Libya to the coast, where they get on boats:
You simply intercept them on the well-known few roads in the deserts of southern Libya, then put them in refugee camps THERE.
As it now stands the easiest leg of their journey is the boat part; via The Law of the Sea if encountered they MUST be picked up and shipped to Europe for release.
It’s ridiculous, he explained; solution would be easy and cheap.
So..., much..., WINNING!
The media never likes conflict, unless it’s conflict we’re not involved in. If it’s a problematic group, why it’s just fine. Communists? Fine. Freedom fighters other than Muslim ones, not so much.
If we’re involved, the other side always has a legitimate beef. We never do.
Our media, just doing the job our enemies around the world can’t do within our own borders.
Hey look, Congress has the power to issue letters of Marque and Reprisal.
Ah, the United Jannisaries of the House of Saud.
A nothing burger of an article. The military has been using military comtractors and CIA front companies for decades to fly missions all over the globe using all kinds of aircraft, both US and Russian. Almost all of the flight crew are high time former military pilots, many of them right out of 160th SOAR and the USAF SOWs.
You and I know that but most people do not.
This is hoe the media gets away with contorting information all the time so that the real issues never get discussed.
+1
Do know who Prince’s sister is?
Betsy DeVos.
Thank you..!
FR is full of all manner of knowledge.
That was new to me, thanks again.
Someday they can target the DNC, a cultish band of thieves and rapists led by warlord Barack Obama. :)
I wonder if they would hire this old guy who can still group in a paper plate at 500 yards with his ol Remington 700 police special 300 WIN MAG... wouldn’t take much I don’t reckon to reach out a little further if need be!
Black water hires a lot of top tier tactical experts. I know a couple of former SEALs that went to work for them at 6 figured salaries.
As an armored cav medic in Vietnam with no details to pull while in basecamp, a friend and I would rent motorbikes from ARVNs and head up to Tam Ky where they knew we’d be leaving them. We’d visit the hooch of Molly & Dolly, just hanging out (innocently, really!) for a few hours, before crossing a large swath of light wool to the west where there was a fairly active helipad of some sort. Making ourselves look like we’d been in the field for a few weeks, we’d routinely ask Air America helicopter pilots for a lift back to our basecamp. These guys were civilians, and for the most part didn’t ask questions. They’d gladly put us down tight beside TOC back in basecamp.
We actually pulled this off a few times, though we could have been Article 15nd up the butt for it. And sometimes I feel a bit guilty for the propriety of it - both from the unit standpoint, and for our own asses. Heck, the whole damn place was VC, and we were really taking risks. But it still gives me a lot of admiration for the pilots of the real AIR AMERICA!
Yes ... thats a 1760 yard boom stick all day. I’d hire ya !...:o)
“unnoticed for past seven years”...... Obamas Presstitutes gave HIM a pass.....
