PRESIDENT TRUMP’S NATIONAL security adviser, Gen. Michael Flynn, was forced to resign on Monday night as a result of getting caught lying about whether he discussed sanctions in a December telephone call with a Russian diplomat. The only reason the public learned about Flynn’s lie is because someone inside the U.S. government violated the criminal law by leaking the contents of Flynn’s intercepted communications.
In the spectrum of crimes involving the leaking of classified information, publicly revealing the contents of SIGINT — signals intelligence — is one of the most serious felonies. Journalists (and all other nongovernmental citizens) can be prosecuted under federal law for disclosing classified information only under the narrowest circumstances; reflecting how serious SIGINT is considered to be, one of those circumstances includes leaking the contents of intercepted communications, as defined this way by 18 § 798 of the U.S. Code:
Whoever knowingly and willfully communicates … or otherwise makes available to an unauthorized person, or publishes … any classified information … obtained by the processes of communication intelligence from the communications of any foreign government … shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both.

Yes I was disappointed with that too. I suppose they figured they didn't want to be bogged down with the investigation and possible hearings, but Trump didn't handle this in the way I would have prefferred. Trump needs to acquire a few intellectual conservatives with the requisite sophistication as to how things work in government to advise him, I'm not happy at all with Trumps less than ideal responses to the attacks that he's come under.

He doesn’t want a legal answer. He wants the story. Tell him the story. “We were discussing and he brought up the sanctions but we didnt get into it beyond that.”
The Left has fallen for every single other trap DJT has set for them, I don’t expect them to wise up anytime soon. Their bloodlust is that overwhelming.
He didn’t lie at all, to any degree. He spoke with Pence and gave an working overview of the discussions. Pence who opposes everything Flynn hoped to accomplish ran to the press and spoke in absolute specifics that were not true.
Why would Trump choose a veep who opposes him?
Then they all must be ready to welcome Edward Snowden back as a hero based on this thought process. And Manning is one as well for exposing govt secrets.

The way I read this whoever leaked it and whoever reported it broke the law and should be arrested. Arrest the reporter then shake him down to find the leaker.
Why haven’t they released the transcripts if it’s so damning.
I mean whatever Flynn did has to be nothing or so spectacularly bad they CAN’T release it. I’ll bet on the former.
I hope that’s right. I hope Trump’s team is playing chess, realizing they need to first disable and dismantle the shadow government that’s thwarted the rule of law all this time.

They probably listen to every phone call the Russian Ambassador makes, so it wasn’t necessarily their intent to spy on Flynn. And since the total content has not been released, we don’t know what all Flynn talked about. I’d say he was a fool if he thought he could talk with a Russian Ambassador on the phone and expect privacy. That in itself shows he isn’t up to job. Yes, Hillary did a lot of things that should have been prosecuted. I want and expect a Republican administration to be much better than Hillary! Yes, I have a higher standard than that, and Flynn did harm to the president by acting like an incompetent and a liar.

Let see the actual transcripts of the call ... the contents of the call will or will not justify the crime of releasing the call
You cannot justify commiting a felony to expose a misdemeanor or even worce committing a felony to expose something that’s politically embarrassing but not illegal
It like torture. Torture is ia crime if it for no reason or a minor reason.. ..But torture can be justified when it’s to stop a crime greater then the torture itself
