Reports are surfacing about a potential national strike by immigrants this weekthe latest in a growing movement to highlight the role immigrants play in the face of Donald Trumps increasingly harsh crackdown.
According to Washingtonian magazine, a number of local restaurants and other businesses have begun bracing for a national strike on February 16, in which immigrantsparticularly those from Latinx communitieshave been urged to stay home from work. The grassroots protest has seemingly been organized by word of mouth and across Latinx social media channels.
One of our delivery men whos Latino told our kitchen about it, and then it started spreading from there, Rose Previte, owner of DCs Compass Rose restaurant, told Washingtonian. In the kitchen, all but the chef and one line cook are immigrants and asked if they could participate. My staff was like, We feel this is something we have to do. They felt really strongly about it. I was like, Okay, absolutely.

Why not a month? No, make it a year. Five years, that would be good (as long as we’re only talking border hoppers and visa over-stayers).
Let’s try “A Year Without Illegal Immigrants” and see how that works.
The damned elites might have to mow their own yards, weed their own flower beds and clean their own damned mansions.
That would be a real shame. Their spoiled rotten kids might have to take time off from their mindless protests to do their chores.
Time for ICE to visit some work sites and ask: who did not show up today. Sounds like a good place to start to ID those 11 million who need be deported.
LEGAL IMMIGRANTS is one thing. - ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS is
another thing.
Might make more sense! Automobile accidents will definitely go down!
I hope they all stay home. Here, they are terrible drivers and as pedestrians just run across the street wherever they feel like it, usually with 3 kids under 5 in tow. They make driving for the rest of us dangerous.
ILLEGAL is the keyword...
“...spit in my food...”
Sigh...I do miss my favorite Mexican restaurants, but that’s exactly why I don’t do Mexican anymore.
I guess this particular movement is called “A Day Without Gringo Bucks”.
Would this include a day without crimes committed by illegals inc no drug sales and no child porn and no human trafficking and no driving and no breaking and entering and no (insert your favorite crime here)
On a day without immigrants, do we get to keep the taxes we pay for welfare to immigrants?
Putting all immigrants into one category is deliberately deceitful. The Indians who work in IT, the Mexicans who go to work building homes, are not a problem. The problem is bearded savages who think they can still act like they did in the hellhole they came from.
***Because Theyre Illiterate In Their Own Language Too***
Years ago, in a New Mexico town where I went to school, many of the kids who failed SPANISH language class were SPANISH speakers!
To be honest, I also failed it but Spanish is not my language.
Illegal aliens make our burritos? That would make you think twice on any day.
Day without Mexicans was tried out here in CA about a decade ago. Backfired BIG TIME, when folks realized the minor inconveniences were more than offset by the benefits of their absence, en masse.

I think this strike is a terrific idea, and I hope all illegals participate.
Yes, we may be inconvenienced, and perhaps even worse.
But, it will demonstrate how many jobs have been stolen from the American workers, and also how many Social Security numbers have been stolen from Americans.
I stopped at the local MickeyD’s for coffee this am. It has lousy service and bad food on a good day. Today the English speaking guy was a no show and it is complete chaos. Coincidently a guy was shot in front of the place last night. Don’t know if the two are connected.
