Kentucky U.S. Rep. Thomas Massie says his bill that would abolish the federal Department of Education should be taken seriously because the interest it has generated means the measure could ultimately end up on President Donald Trumps desk.
I think the reason people have to take this bill seriously now, is because, for the first time since Ronald Reagan, we have a president in the White House who would conceivably sign this bill, he explains in an exclusive interview with Breitbart News.
Massie, who introduced his bill to abolish the federal education department on February 7, says he and many of his colleagues have received a significant number of calls from their constituents urging that the bill move forward.
I was just told by one of my staff and I havent confirmed this that its the second most viewed bill on the congressional website, he says. I dont know how they keep the statistics, but the most viewed bill was one I co-sponsored that was modeled after my bill, which was abolishing the EPA.

Exclusive KY Rep. Massie on Bill to Abolish Education Department: We Have a President in the White House Who Would Conceivably Sign It
Of all the coonskins to nail over the mantelpiece, this is one of the most important.
Full speed ahead!
Next:
ATF, EPA, Dept of Commerce..!!
They want to destroy him, FINE..!!
In for a penny, in for a pound.
Let THEM play defense..!
The Dept. of Education has NOTHING to do with education. It is about pushing leftist social-engineering philosophy and protecting a key leftist political bloc.
Kill the DOE immediately.. To allow states to adjust, distribute any funds allocated to it directly to the States, for 3 years, on a declining basis 100%, 50%, 25%. DONE.
Max WARP!
Eliminate BOTH DOE’s while you’re at it!
Warp speed Mr. Sulu.
This is the type of legislation that the Republicans should be trying to pass. The biggest obstacle would be a filibuster by Senate Democrats. It’s long passed time for the Senate to abolish that stupid and immature practice.
After 200 years, it is time to put an end to these "multitude of New Offices."
And end any federal funding of the NEA immediately.
Reagan ran on a platform that included abolishing the DoE.
Trump can do it in his honor.
This so needs to happen!
Slash the departments!
Balance the damned budget!
Leave such things to the various states...if they wish to do them.
And another thing, put the military on the southern border until the wall is finished! Bring the troops back home from all the far-flung places they are deployed and put them to a good use.
Nuking the filibuster is the acid test.
It’s not just a question of McConnell. There are a number of Senate RINOs who might not go along with nuking it.
Trump should make it an issue in the 2018 mid-terms if it’s still around.
Kill list...
#1 - DOE
#2 - The OTHER DOE
There is NOTHING more worthless than these two sinkholes.
Yes. Charlotte Iserbyt spent her life trying to get rid of the Marxist Dept. of Ed. and quit working for the Dept. of Ed. in Reagan’s term because he had promised to get rid of it and didn’t. She had been appointed because she was one of the people who helped him get elected and she thought she was in that department to get rid of it.
No such luck, so we now have TWO more generations of snowflakes and 1/4 of all university students are mentally ill.
Our culture will collapse if we don’t get our children out of the brainwashing-into-idiocy program.
There is nothing WORSE than a system, paid for by parents, which destroys the minds and virtue of their own children. It is SO evil. The programming has to end!!!
Congressman Massie Making America Great Again.
$60 BILLION every year into that DOE monstrosity!! Can you imagine the good that would do for education in this country?
The US has 14,000 public school districts. That is $4.3 MILLION for every single district in the entire country!
Here ya go! Ping the bills! LOL

I don’t know if we should totally abolish the EPA, though, being a tree-hugger. Well, a clear-cutting abolitionist. Leave a couple, eh?
