My parents’ friends had one. I was unimpressed with it other than in a straight line and even then it wasn’t that great by modern standards. For about the price of the average family sedan today you can get a sedan that’s just as fast if not faster, safer, actually stops and goes around corners and actually gets more than 12mpg. :P

I have been a muscle car fan all my life, but that said, most of them weren't that great all around. Maybe in straight line acceleration, and then only with a good set of slicks. Engine, Suspension and tire technology has come a long way since then.

Considering my daily driver does 0-60 in 2.8 seconds and tops out over 155mph while costing less than $10K... I think you are in error.

Anyway, if you are going to reproduce a car of the past, why not do something that could do things like "stop" and "turn" while still looking heartbreakingly beautiful?

Who cares? Just look at it!!You knew what you were looking at. Today, they all look the same.

I have an "09 Mustang, mainly because it looks so much like a "69. When I bought it I was driving 190 miles per day. I didn't even ask how much fuel it burned. Drove it about a mile, and the wife said lets get it.

Everybody isn't impressed with fuel mileage above all else.

BTW; It tops out right at 150 MPH and runs the quarter in 14.50's. Now, that's a CAR.

PS: I am now retired and still have it. Managed to put 96,000 miles on it before retirement, enjoyed every mile.

Hell YES.

This “law” WAS NEVER PASSED BY CONGRESS. Instead, a bureaucracy imposed this CRAP.

Destroy it.

Yes, I was looking at a poorly assembled Detroit product that didn’t actually look all that good and wasn’t actually very impressive to drive other than in a straight line.

Your 09 Mustang is still slower than my daily driver - top speed and quarter mile and 0-60.

Fuel economy per se is not something I’m interested in - only in that cars with low fuel economy generally have poor range so the fun runs out rather quickly.

No kidding. I helped a neighbor by driving her ‘67 goat to my mechanic for a checkup a while back: I mashed the pedal to the metal, slammed through the gears, the engine was roaring like hell and the goat was rocking and swaying. It felt like I was going 90 mph, but when I looked at the speedometer, it showed 60 mph. I’ll have to say, I nearly laughed by ass off.

I’ll take my 2000 Prelude over a ‘67 goat any day of the week.

What he is saying is re manufacture the 1967 GTO with modern technology. That is a good idea. I would buy one. Front wheel drive egg shaped cars suck.

The way I see it, is that the less gas we consume the less we have to pay to the Arabs.

Coffin on wheels.

We refer to them as cars for people who don't understand physics.
