Liberals are such paragons of tolerance!
During the presidential campaign last year, Macys went all PC by dumping Donald Trumps line of neckties because he said he would build a wall along the US-Mexico border.
After Trump won, the Left began boycotting Ivanka Trumps brand , followed by the dumping of the Ivanka label and other Trump merchandise by Shoes.com, Penzeys Spices, Nordstrom, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, and Home Shopping Network.
Now, already struggling Sears and Kmart have joined the dump-Trump hate movement.
From Business Insider, Feb. 10, 2017:
Sears and Kmarts websites no longer sell products from the Trump Home line, which is owned by the Trump Organization.
As of Friday, a search for Trump Home items on both retailers sites yielded no results, except items sold by third-party sellers.
As part of the companys initiative to optimize its online product assortment, we constantly refine that assortment to focus on our most profitable items, a Sears Holdings spokesperson told Business Insider. Amid that streamlining effort, 31 Trump Home items were among the items removed online this week. Products from the line are still offered online via third-party Marketplace vendors.
As of Tuesday, Sears was still selling 19 Trump Home items online and Kmart was selling 13, according to Shannon Coulter, the brand strategist who started the #GrabYourWallet Trump boycott .
Neither Kmart nor Sears has carried Trump Home in brick-and-mortar stores.
Goodbye Kmart & Sears, RIP! Well buy Ivankas products DIRECTLY FROM IVANKAS WEBSITE.
I would dump them here , but they have closed their stores. Must have closed due to their great business sense like they are showing on this. sarc
Another nail in their corporate coffin.
Has anyone actually established that Sears and KMart could actually pay for the merch in the first place? Maybe the Trump dis was really to cover up the fact that the distributor/s was/were unwilling to extend Sears and KMart credit.
Sears & KMart still in business? I haven’t been to one in years. This boycott will be easy.
They were heading down the road to doom already. This will just get them there sooner.
I actually went to a Sears store recently to get a thread gauge. The options for finding one of those are limited here. Other than one sales clerk and some people in the distance who were probably employees, the place was empty. I am astonished it is still open.
Sears, in it’s current form, won’t see 2019 and neither will KMart..
Sears...
You Are Finished!
Sears and Kmart are one and the same. Sears is owned by Kmart, so it was the one Board that decided. The media makes it sound like 2 separate companies that each came to the decision to stop selling Trump merchandise.
If anything I think this is going to backfire big time. Maybe they should ire Ellen DeGeneres as their spokesperson.../s
Sears Nobucks
Has anyone actually established that Sears and KMart could pay for the merch in the first place...?
Not like there’s anything worth buying at K-Mart, anyway.
The only time I went to Sears in the past 7 years is to buy my Mother XXL house dresses. The only people there were a few other XXL people and the sales clerk who was less than kind.
Wow! Management was cowed into this position by the threat of a boycott by people who would never be caught dead in their stores. Whatever company is planning on buying the Craftsman and Kenmore brands needs to wait now. The pricing will nosedive as real customers of Sears and KMart take their revenge on the Board.
It's been shown to be a proven winning strategy in retail sales./s
BTW...Mrs. The know was watching Hallmark channel yesterday and they ran an ad for Valentines Day featuring homosexuals where one was on a knee proposing to the other. No more Hallmark cards for this household!
The Sears that’s been in my town since the 60s is closing in a month or so, so F them.
The K-mart is already gone.
Sears and K Mart are in no position to antagonize any sector of their customers. You talk about idiocy. It has never occurred to me to take pointers on social values or politics from box stores or rappers and assorted degenerates.
Sears spiked 30% last Friday on the News of a re-structuring plan. Their share price has lost 300% in the last year. Sears annual loss, is more than twice their share price. Ivanka Trump’s fashion lines sales, were up 21% in 2016.
