They quote the following tweet: Estimating public expenditures of $162.3M for early January storms, @JerryBrownGov asks President Trump for a federal disaster declaration.

If it was a big one like Katrina, one of the big hurricanes, a major earthquake, or possibly a fire like SF had in the early part of the last century I might agree with you but this is small potatoes comparatively.
Brown has indicated he and Cali is willing to go it alone without federal help. Alrighty then; let them. They are so far in the hole right now they will never dig their way out of their pension deficit and unfunded debt. Let them show us just how good they are in keeping their state going without money for welfare recipients and food stamps; particularly those who should not be here. They have the worst roads in the country with only 3% of the states having worse roads and they are probably bordering Canada where they barely have time to fix the roads let alone put new ones in.
BTW; you don’t list your state in your profile. You should do that first chance you get so folks know where you’re coming from.
President Trump is the President of all the people of our nation, whether they voted for him or not. He’ll do the right thing and declare disaster in California if it’s warranted. Obama did this all the time for states that did not vote for him.
And besides, 4.5 million people in California voted for President Trump, and like ALL lib states, all counties in the state vote red except for a tiny handful that make up the large urban vote.
It’s disappointing to see such thoughtless and vindictive posts indicating that it’s somehow right and appropriate for a President to eschew the welfare of an entire state just because not everyone voted for him.
Just tell them to stop spending money fighting global warming and California will thaw right back out. Then use the money saved to clean up the messes his policies ‘caused.’
Huh! Well, Governer... How convenient!
I bet the president cares for the Americans affected....So he will probably send help...But I bet he will do it in such a way that it goes directly to the people.
It definitely won’t be sent to the government of California.
That’s what I’m thinking. Target the funds to the people who were affected. Not to the government.
That is what I am thinking. He will help the people who are affected. But he won’t bail out the government.
I’m not an expert but that’s my feeling. Please see my previous post on this thread.
That is sad.
He may change some hearts and minds, as the saying goes. I really think he does care about people in distress.
What I would say if I were President Trump: I will get back to you on that.

You are correct. We are just fantasizing. The President may say a few things, but will ultimately send aid. This is one of those "show we are Christians" moments. Tough to do.
I do not wish ill on
any human being, but it
would be sweet if Washington
state were in the same
predicament....these people
let their alligator mouths
over-rule their humming bird
ass*s....
Who’ll start demanding jiziya soon enough.
Give the crazy governor a few bucks but only if he admits that “Global Warming Is Not Real”.
I’d love to see if Moonbeam is so desperate that he would actually get on his hands and knees to get money, like any other liberal whore would.
This bastard and his friends put thousands of small farmers out of business by cutting off water to the San Jaquin Valley (Rep. Devin Nunez’ district). Now he wants Uncle Sucker to bail his ass out. No way Jose!
Payback’s a bitch and Uncle Donald spells that with a capital “B” as in Baseball Bat to the head.
No water is a disaster...send money
Water is a disaster...send money
Our open borders communist society is a disaster...send money
Oops...sorry didn’t mean to tell the truth there
Only days ago all those companies in Silicon Valley didn’t seem to care a bit about the safety of the whole country when they supported overturning the temporary travel ban from terror countries. Let them spend their money as well as the movie stars who are so rich and saying “Not my President”. They love to show how they care, so let them care. They want to ceaselessly protest, beat people up, threaten, boycott, and not give one single conciliatory note or gesture. They believe they are better than the rest of the country and now is their chance to show it.
Personally, I’d send them a pail!
Trump should send aid.
Moonbeam’s request will be small potatoes if the video is a taste of things shortly to come to pass.
“100% Agree - Trump should issue the declaration right away and offer any assistance that the state may need. Disasters should never be political.”
Obammy didn’t declare disaster for Louisiana’s recent floods when ASKED, AND CA’s governance is hostile to POTUS, AND these CA idiots still have us under drought restrictions, so NO, NO $$ for CA!
Ask for help from the president of California.
Seriously, DJT will most likely send help.
But he certainly has leverage now. Maybe he will offer to help, but needs “assurances” in the form of Governor and Legislature formal documents stating they will be in FULL compliance with all federal laws.
DJT knows how to negotiate well. He could make a great deal.
But I think he will just send them Federal funds, no strings attached.
It should be interesting to see how he handles this.
I don’t understand. The Governor said we were in a never ending drought due to Globull Warming just a couple of years ago.
Besides, we are swimming in so much Cash we are going to build a High Speed Train to nowhere and we are going to give anyone who walks into CA from South of the Border free Obamacare (Medicaid) Health Insurance.
Maybe Jerry can ask Google and some of their Silicon Valley buddies to cover any unexpected expenses. You know, like fixing the Oroville Dam Spillway before it fails. All that drought damage took it’s toll.
