I voted for Donald Trump, and was never a “NeverTrumper”. I’m a conservative Christian that realized we had no candidate in this race, and he was the best option. I’ve also never seen a race with so few lawn signs or bumper stickers, and I directly blame this on the candidates themselves; in Trump’s case, his vulgarity made it difficult to publicly support him.

I’m glad he won; I only expect economic gains, no victories in the culture war.

Well I am sorry you feel this way and we will just have to agree to disagree.

You state: “I’m a conservative Christian and realized we had no candidate in this race, he was the best option”

Not sure who you would have considered an acceptable for a “we have a candidate in this race.” However, I am sorry you feel “we had no candidate in this race” I am a conservative Christian*, too, and I could barely wait to vote for Trump—would have crawled across broken glass to do so...

As a candidate, President Trump** promised to repeal the Johnson Amendment!!, promote school choice, and eradicate Islamic terrorism—which has killed millions of Christians in the Middle East as they have no tolerance for any religion other than Islam. As President of 3 weeks, he is trying to revise immigration standards so these nut cases are not allowed in our country to kill us. With all due respect, I just don’t understand how any Christian could not feel he is their candidate...No other candidate has ever stood up for Christians the way President Trump has and is.

You state that you have never seen a race with so few bumper stickers and yard signs. That is your measure? Well, I believe your assumption may be incorrect.

I see you are from New Jersey—a state that went to Hillary with 55% to President Trump’s 42%. Why would you see lots of yard signs? Trump was not spending money in NJ just like no money spent in IL—so there were no signs because New Jersey (like IL) was not a battleground or swing state; I know because I called about getting a sign for myself and others here in IL and that is what I was told. IL had no mechanism for delivering signs—only one campaign office in the state—down in Champaign, and I would have had to drive 4 hours to get a sign.

So for people in IL as I suspect in NJ, it was the fact that we could not get signs or were afraid of Black Lives Matter inspired violence. I had my car surrounded by 75-100 BLM Move-on.org types—they pounded on my windows too when I went to a Trump rally—and I had no Trump signs or bumper stickers. Can you imagine what would of happened if I had??? Luckily the Police showed up to disperse the group of thugs...Your perceived “vulgarity” as you put it had nothing to do with fear of public support. I was afraid for my safety.

So, as I said, I guess we agree to disagree, but I wanted you to know why another Freeper, who considers themself a conservative Christian stood 100% behind Trump and because he won, has much more hope for our country—both economic and cultural.

Fregards.

*Oh, and he actually has made a much deeper commitment to God, but that is discussion for another thread, and it was discussed on several here during the campaign—perhaps you missed that he was led to Christ.

**I have no problem saying “President Trump”

I’m glad PRESIDENT Donald J. Trump is here instead of Hillary; no doubt about that. As far as lawns signs, NJ had few for EITHER candidate in my area.

I can’t ignore his three marriages or lack of interest in junking “gay marriage”; he didn’t lie about them (he confessed to his own shortcomings as a husband, which I thought was very humble of him), I believe he just doesn’t care either way as far as “gay marriage” is concerned. I don’t know what a conservative Christian FReeper should expect from Trump; since he hasn’t committed to anything, I guess anything would be a pleasant surprise.
