10 Senate seats that could flip in 2018
The Hill ^

Democrats reeling from a devastating election face a daunting task: the 2018 Senate map.

It favors Republicans in a big way. The GOP will be defending just eight seats, while Democrats must fight for 23 — plus another two held by independents who caucus with Democrats.

What’s worse is the fact that many of the seats they must defend are in states won by Republican Donald Trump.

Midterm elections for sitting presidents are historically challenging. Democrats in the Senate are hoping to find some political momentum for 2018 given the difficult playing ground.

Here are 10 Senate seats that could flip, in alphabetical order:

A supermajority sounds good to me.

I suspect Minnesota will be one of them.

Looking out as far as 2021, Alaska, Louisiana, Minnesota, Montana, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia all have democrat or independent governors. A few of these would be tough, like Minnesota, but a lot are very winnable, especially if the democrats continue their self destruction. This would also eliminate a lot of potential national democrat candidates.

Fineswine will be 85, Hatch will be 84 so they probably won’t run. Anus King (sounds like a bouncer in a gay bar doesn’t it) will be 74 and Bernie Sanders will be 77, so they are on the bubble. If Trump has a successful year this year, and I think he will, I am wondering how many of the rest will stick around knowing that they are assured minority status, perhaps for the entirety of their six-year terms. I also think Manchin may be getting ready to leave the RAT Party.

IMO, the worst thing that could happen to the republican majority in the congress/senate would be for the democrats to start acting civil and offering rational alternatives.

That is completely beyond their nature so again, IMO it’s looking great for us in 2018.

Michigan is already fully aware of their job in 2018.

I suspect Minnesota will be one of them.

In the Minnesota senate, republicans are behind by only one seat, and are ahead in the house. Flip one senate seat and the governor, and suddenly Minnesota becomes a red state.

A Lib former Coworker Posted a Facebook article with Manchin labeled a TRAITOR because he Voted for Sessions.

It also called Sessions a Serial Racist.

Waiting to be Unfriended as we speak after what I wrote in response.

Nice guy, but he has really gone bonkers since I saw him a few years ago. His Wife is a School Teacher and the hatred of DeVos rivals their hatred of President Trump.

Just another casualty in the fight to save America.

Primary all 3 and Corker. Need to pick up at least 8 Rats to remove filibuster (15 enables impeachments) and replace all the RINOs.

I think Donnelly is fairly safe in Indiana. He is permitted to act just independent enough to appear “moderate.” He goes into Republican areas ans makes public appearances with local officials. Susan Brooks, who would probably have offered the strongest challenge, has declined to do so.

Probably all you can do for the couple is pray for them. It’s going to be so exciting to see what DeVos does with the schools and how the parents who are now protesting will be praising her because their children’s scores and learning have both gone up.

I’m sure my Children over Teacher’s Unions and hoping that the Department of (re) Education would be dismantled remarks didn’t go over well.

I had told my Friend that I wouldn’t react to his stuff for the benefit of our past friendship. That lasted two days. I just couldn’t take the willful ignorance and propaganda.

We need to focus on local elections. State legislatures, mayors, school boards, etc. Keep taking away their minor leaguers.

Judges. Progressives have redefined judicial importance in this country.

We need to make sure we ditch the establishment Republicans.

Yes and no. We need numbers. We need that Supermajority. If that means sucking it up and keeping some GOP-Ers, so be it.

Get on the Trump Train or get out.

Not yet, and trust me, I understand the feeling, but not yet.

Now add Alabama as 34-— waiting until Nov ‘18 is wrong, why not Nov ‘17?

Trump needs to have separate sit-down meetings in the situation room With McCain and Graham and explain to them that their behavior will no longer be tolerated.

How quickly Trump can address voter fraud could be key in 2018, though some GOP pickups are very likely anyway—and then absolutely critical in 2020 and 2022, when the shoe is on the other foot and more Republicans are defending seats.
