The Marco Rubio knockdown of Elizabeth Warren no liberal media outlet will cover

In a speech you didn’t hear because it doesn’t make for good TV or push a liberal narrative, Senator Marco Rubio, R-Fla. (C, 74%) warned that tolerating Warren’s brand of slanderous rhetoric on the floor of the U.S. Senate undermines the institution and weakens our republic.

“I want people to think about our politics here today in America,” Rubio exhorted his colleagues. “Because I’m telling you guys, I don’t know of a single nation in the history of the world that’s been able to solve its problems when half the people in the country absolutely hate the other half of people in that country.”

“This is not a partisan issue, it really is not” Rubio said. “Turn on the news and watch these parliaments around the world where people throw chairs at each other, and punches. And ask yourself ‘how does that make you feel about those countries?’ Doesn’t give you a lot of confidence about those countries.”

Don’t understand why the democrats are being so divisive after they spent the last two years telling everyone that we’re Stronger Together.

Wasn’t Rule 19 adopted specifically to prevent fistfights on the Senate floor?

There’s the Rubio back I’ve liked in the past...hope he sticks around awhile - much better than the bitter, grand standing Rubio.

Rubio’s speech was commendable but I must disagree with his attempt to attribute the vitriol equally to both parties. The dems clearly hold the edge in mean-spirited, hate-filled speech. No contest.

The Dems definitely hold the edge, and it seems that their followers love it. Their rhetoric is unmoored from reality, completely irresponsible, and aimed solely at stirring up hatred. I’m glad somebody called Warren on this stuff, and I hope this is just the beginning of the attempt to restore reason to our public proceedings.

But when you have a party that supports violent riots and physical attacks upon opposing speakers as “exercise of free speech,” it’s not going to be easy.
