McConnell declines federal investigation into voter fraud
Washington Examiner ^ | 2/5/17 | Kelly Cohen

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Sunday declined to say he would support a federal investigation — and thus the spending of taxpayer money — into President Trump's claims of massive voter fraud in the 2016 presidential election.

The Kentucky Republican said that he does believe in voter fraud, but does not believe as Trump does that 3 to 5 million people illegally voted in the election.

"Election fraud does occur," McConnell said on CNN's "State of the Union," adding that "there's no evidence that occurred in such a significant number that it would have changed the presidential election."

In a new interview, Trump told Fox News's Bill O'Reilly that "a bad situation" still exists regarding voter fraud. The president has threatened to launch a "major investigation" into voter fraud, but the White House has yet to announce such an effort.

"I don't think we ought to spend any federal money investigating that. I think the states can take a look at this issue. Many of them have tried to tighten their voter rolls, tried to purge people who are dead," McConnell said Sunday.

There has been no legitimate evidence of the large-scale voter fraud claimed by Trump.

McConnell had better follow through on his commitment to confirm all of the President’s appointments.

He will do, of course, what his voters in Kentucky say will keep him in office; and those voters may be swayed by the present 360 degree anti-Trump clamor.

Sadly, that puts into sharp focus the profound impact that perhaps a small number of state voters can have on our national agenda.

(Please don't ask me for a solution, am not a political scientist.)

It’s a system based on fraud and corruption.

Just like Mexico, Sr. Padilla’s real country.

Anyone else feeling they are at boiling point with the scumbags in the media, the baby tantrums the liberals are dong, and the establishment cowards?

Drain the swamp! Drain the swamp!

Remember in November ’18 !

Since Trump entered the ’16 presidential race too late for patriots to make sure that there were state sovereignty-respecting candidates on the primary ballots, patriots need make sure that such candidates are on the ’18 primary ballots so that they can be elected to support Trump in draining the unconstitutionally big federal government swamp.

Such a Congress will also be able to finish draining the swamp with respect to getting the remaining state sovereignty-ignoring, activist justices off of the bench.

Noting that the primaries start in Iowa and New Hampshire in February ‘18, patriots need to challenge candidates for federal office in the following way.

Patriots need to qualify candidates by asking them why the Founding States made the Constitution’s Section 8 of Article I; to limit (cripple) the federal government’s powers.

Patriots also need to find candidates that are knowledgeable of the Supreme Court's clarifications of the federal government’s limited powers listed below.

The 17th Amendment did so much damage to our system of government. It needs to be repealed.

"there's no evidence that occurred in such a significant number that it would have changed the presidential election."

What about the next election?!

The Democrats do not need 3 to 5 million illegal votes. A few hundred thousand well-placed votes can do the job, and they know it.

Better to look foolish and fix the problem than to keep the problem even longer. Someone needs to actually take a representative sample of ballots and audit the vote.

It needs to be repealed.

Agreed, and also think that at the moment the nation is too divided to accomplish that as a stand alone concept.

I believe it would be too easy/convenient for Congress to ignore or dither with a call for an amendment. Believe it should be part of an Art IV that has so much broad appeal the Congress has no real option but to take action.

1st sentence of second paragraph says a “no” checked box MAY not be entered on the voter rolls. That means it may, or may not depending on whether the worker goes thru the process to send the “voter” a follow up question for clarification. - Hey CA DMV - they aren’t a voter until approved. Confusion and fraud all over the place.

RINOs looking to pickup the slack left by imploding RATs. Circular logic is wonderful...there's no reason to investigate because there's no proof.

Exactly so.

We are a nation of laws, or we are not.

If you're an office holder, you support the rule of law, or not.

Decide which side you are on, Mitch...because there's an oncoming storm.

One writer described the election as being like Flight 93. For me, it was...and the flight hasn't landed yet.

You get a lot of patriots deciding they have nothing to lose...

...this is a job for the DOJ not the Senate.

Exactly! WTP don't need any of these wingnuts in our feckless bought and paid for con-gress to pursue this. I would have never asked him to. Go back to navel gazing mitch! That said, the original source for this is cnn, I assume every word to be a lie, until I can independently verify it.

Terrible logic. Of course it matters. Not all elections are won by large margins; making sure the votes counted are only by legitimate American citizens matters greatly (Bigly).

One truly wonders how some of these people managed to rise to the positions they hold until I remember they were planted there by rich oligarchs; the ones behind the scenes pulling the strings on these puppets who were against Trump because they could not control him.
