The new US ambassador to the United Nations used her inaugural statement to the international body to condemn Russian aggression in Ukraine.

“I consider it unfortunate that the occasion of my first appearance is one in which I must condemn the aggressive actions of Russia,” Haley said.

“It is unfortunate because it is a replay of too many instances over many years in which United States representatives have had to do that.”

She singled out Russia’s aggression in Ukraine.

The remarks may help silence critics of President Trump who have feared he’s too in sync with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

That’s good. Trump is friendly to Russia, and I think Russia got involved in the Ukraine mostly because of bitter internal Eastern European politics. Probably they’d be happy to have an excuse to kind of back out of it.

My prediction:

The left will lose their minds because Trump is “trying to start a nuclear war.”

Dead right. I think we should be investigating the extent of our own involvement in the problems of Ukrainian politics and cut it TF out.

The Ukraine has always been difficult. The plus side for Russia is pretty limited and this is more of a nationalist conflict than anything else. I think the Russians would be happy with a dignified exit, which we could arrange. And that might improve the Ukrainian future too.

Putin isn't leaving Crimea and he wants to keep Eastern Donbas.
