HOUSTON They gathered after nightfall at an undisclosed location downtown.
People representing more than a half-dozen protest groups that are set to march and rally here Super Bowl weekend met to coordinate their efforts in a way New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick would have appreciated. That is to say, the protesters discussed using encrypted communication that would keep opponents from intercepting their messages.
It was so secretive Tuesday night, not all of the group representatives got the full game plan, said Blake Stroud, who created a group called #ResistHouston to connect the protesters and provided USA TODAY Sports with an account of the meeting.
I guess theyre going for the element of surprise, he said.

I’m currently listening to whatever they are doing a Discovery Green. I wish they’d send us home, 5 days of this has given me a massive headache.
On my CBS news feed, CBS just said VP Pence will be in town for the game.
Expect more children and tantrums.
Are you expecting trouble at 5pm, too?
Let me see ,..you pay $2500.oo per ticket, you have access to beer / liquor, and then someone wants to prevent you leaving in a timely manner.

Or re-read "Sum of All Fears"...
Oh, kinda like isis/is/isil/daesh does? Somebody needs to uh, correct some of these errors.
And Houston also. You say you want a riot? Our police officers will not be told to stand down and you can bet our football fans won’t either.......just sayin’.........;)
You go sister!.........LOL.....so true......as I said in another post on here our officers WILL NOT be told to stand down. The former black police chief said Houston will allow for demonstrations that at peaceful but beyond that you go to jail....the new hispanic police chief sounds like he won’t take any crap either....:)
Apparently there was another incident at the Galleria yesterday. Guy was carrying a loaded gun in his backpack and dropped the backpack on the floor. Gun discharged. Oh oh! Will likely lose his cc license over it.
Galleria has always been one of the safer places in the city to go shop - if you can afford it. Not so any more as there have been several robberies and cars vandalized. Best to stay away from the city. Son and dil both work in that area and have started carrying all the time.
Entire Houston Police Department will be on duty during the #SuperBowl; Catherine Herridge reports on security for Sunday's big game.
