A former Defense Department official under the Obama administration has raised the specter of a military coup to remove President Donald Trump from power. In an editorial penned for Foreign Policy, senior Pentagon policy official Rosa Brooks publicly suggested a military insurrection against the Trump administration may be the only option to oust one of the most divisive presidents in American history. “Donald Trump’s first week as president has made it all too clear: Yes, he is as crazy as everyone feared,” Ms. Brooks wrote. “[One] possibility is one that until recently I would have said was unthinkable in the United States of America: a military coup, or at least a refusal by military leaders to obey certain orders.” For the first time in her career in public service, including three years as senior counselor to the Pentagon’s policy chief from 2009 to 2011, “I can imagine plausible scenarios in which senior military officials might simply tell the president: ‘No, sir. We’re not doing that.’” Ms. Brooks’ editorial comes as a recent poll by Public Policy Polling group found that 40 percent of registered voters support Mr. Trump’s impeachment.

Personally, I do not believe for one minute that there will be a coup against trump. If our military never attempted to rid this country of the worst president in history, they will NEVER go to the opposite extreme of removing Trump. I see a few of them possibly removing those higher-ups who may want the coup but not those who support Trump. “Ain’t gonna happen!”

They would never outwit Trump though, the guy is too smart and would be 100 chess moves ahead of them before they even made their first step. He’s doing that already and I KNOW he has got a plan to take out Soros within the coming year. Like he said in his message on Twitter about “Professional anarchists, thugs and paid protesters...” He is warning them that he knows who they are and what they are doing with the likes of Soros and that he has them in his sights. He’s not going to stand for this anarchist terror sh*t, rioting, burning, attacking. Would not surprise me if in the coming year he has all the leaders of these groups arrested for terror activities. That’s when the heads of people like Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer will really explode LOL!

In a real military coup, most of the soldiers will never see an illegal order.
I mean, it won't be, "Captain Smith, you are hereby ordered to overthrow the government of the United States".
It will be. "Captain Smith, the White House has been attacked by terrorists and the whereabouts of the President, VP, and SecDef are unknown. Proceed to secure the Longworth Office Building".
I’m assuming that Trump is a smart leader. I would imagine that Mattis and the other trusted generals who Trump has talked to, have come up with lists of O-6 through O-12’s whom they trust. Each of those will, in turn be interviewed and asked about every officer they know. That information will be put to good use.
Yes, Obama has put a lot of his people in place. But those people have not likely been smart enough to hide what they are.
You remind me of an experience I once had, facing down a group of about six guys. As a group, they knew they could take me. As individuals, they each knew that I would stab the first one to come near me.
Nobody was interested in being first.
