Actress Sarah Silverman called for a military coup against President Trump on Wednesday night in the midst of violent riots in Berkeley, California.
In a screaming all-capital-letters tweet exhorted her almost 10 million followers to “wake up & join the resistance,” a term from World War II that anti-Trump rioters have used to define themselves.
She then outlined her preferred scenario for the violent overthrow of the legitimately elected government, still in all capital letters.

Sane America controls the Federal Government, most state governments, probably a majority of the citizenry, and the vast land area of America, is armed, and, of greatest importance, is sane and clear thinking strategically and morally.
However, civil war is a horrible, monstrous thing to contemplate.
We must do everything possible to bring as many of the misguided to sanity and hope that the energy of the psychotics somehow dissipates.
Trump is the right man for the job, but many pitfalls lie ahead, and the situation grows more dangerous by the hour.
Foreign provocateurs are salivating over the possibility that they could inflame the situation.
We must do everything we can to diffuse it and restore peace, calm, and sanity.
