I can’t say so to whether this story is accurate or not, I don’t know what’s up with these leaks from “unnamed officials”, if there is a leaker trying to hurt the administration from within he should be identified and fired. If the wapost is making this up, that’s shameful.
But I will say
1)Screw Obama’s agreement with Australia to take trash off their hands, we’re “bound” to let them in as long as they pass the security check? Well ok, simple then, make sure they all fail it, other than any Christians, maybe. No vacancy.
2)Turnbull is a weak moderate who overthrew the conservative PM and then promptly almost lost the next election to the socialists.
Time to move to the old post office while the whitehouse is debugged.

At one point Trump informed Turnbull that he had spoken with four other world leaders that day — including Russian President Vladimir Putin — and that “This was the worst call by far.”
Putin, the current nemesis of the Left, is mentioned. That’s just too pat. This is another fake news.
Another possibility is that the leak is from Australia.
I’m not saying that it is. Just that it’s a possibility.

It was not a treaty ratified by the senate and as such, such side line deals can be broken if conditions warrant. Trump in a delaying action could send the ‘deal” to the senate asking them to ratify it. The deal doesn’t rise to treaty status so the Aussies will just have to “stuff it”!
Could be. But the article I believe says they received it from Senior Officials here with knowledge of the phone call.

May be different now but do recall that they are very concerned about things like foreign soil (dirt ), and contamination due to their being a true Island in the middle of the vast ocean.
Had friends who relocated there and the scrutiny their belonging went through was something to behold.
Also, personally they really looked at you shoes when you got off the plane for signs of mud/etc...... This was before you were allowed to proceed into the airport proper

This deal that Obama reached with Australia is ridiculous. They, in accordance with Australian immigration law will not accept anyone arriving without a visa. So they put these people on an island while they looked for a patsy to take responsibility for them.
Australian PM gets his mangina hurt and contacts the WaPo to whine and build another fake news story.
