At the end of his just-ended conversation with VP Pence, Rush informed him and the audience that Susan Collins has said she will vote against Betsy DeVos for Education secretary.
Rush also reporting a second Pub senator [Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski] would vote against her.
As Snow was doing her final farewell visits to Republicans across the state in 2012, she received polite applause from her audiences. Polite in the sense that they did not boo.
I want ms merCOWski to note this. Donald John Trump whipped the dog crap out of criminal hillary in your state 51% to 36%. I think you just screwed the goat.
Is this what the people of Maine want?
I hereby predict out new Alaskan Senator — Sarah Palin!!!
They could. It is a matter of scheduling and the delays. Don’t know what they plan to do.
Manchin announced today against Betsy. Claims there are no charters in WV.
From your point it sounds to me that they should try to complete the process with DeVos prior to completing it with Sessions, given the delays and stalling by the other side.
Not if they're both on the committee. If it doesn't get out of committee it doesn't get to the floor. Mitch McConnell needs to kick some butt.
President Trump should announce that in the absence of a Secretary, the Department of Education is irrelevant and will be dissolved.
Oh, she's much worse than McCain and Graham...and THAT’s saying something!
Hey darling, how'd you like to see fed funds to Maine cut in half? Hmmmmmmmmmm.
DeVos has made it out of committee and Sessions just stated that he will make sure he votes for DeVos before he becomes the next Attorney General. Trump has this. Step away from the ledge...go have a drink.
Suspend the rules.
There will be hell to pay if the Senate refuses to confirm her.
No doubt both want some kind of pay off for their votes.
Snowe, not Collins, voted for one version of a healthcare bill that was not the one voted for on the floor of the Senate in committee, though her vote was not necessary to pass it as that was when the Democrats had a supermajority.
Yes, but she made it out of committee with both the votes of Collins and Murkowski, who were both members of that committee, saying they may vote against her on the floor of the Senate but she deserves to have a final vote by the full Senate.
No, you can actually still blame that one entirely on the Democrats. The bill Snowe voted on in committee was not the Obamacare bill that passed and she never supported that one...her vote wasn’t necessary anyway...the Democrats controlled the committee and the Senate overwhelmingly.
That was Yellow Snowe who subsequently passed on runnin again ...
