Ted Cruz Statement on Firing of Acting Attorney General
Facebook ^

Posted on 01/30/2017 8:03:02 PM PST by springwater13

After eight long years of a lawless Obama Department of Justice, it is fitting--and sad--that the very last act of the Obama DOJ is for the Acting AG to defy the newly elected President, refuse to enforce the law, and force the President to fire her. Sally Yates now joins the ignominious succession, from Eric Holder to Loretta Lynch, of Attorneys General who put brazen partisan interests above fidelity to law.

President Trump was exactly right to fire an acting Attorney General who refused to carry out her constitutional duty to enforce and defend the law. Yates’ lawless partisanship highlights why the Senate needs to act now--and Senate Democrats should end their extreme political obstruction and delay--and confirm Jeff Sessions immediately. America needs and deserves an Attorney General who will be faithful to the Constitution and uphold the law.

Get over it. Cruz has shown himself more than willing to support Trump on key issues. Save your grudge for someone who actually deserves it.

Oh, Ted definitely deserves it - he worked long and hard during the primaries and revealed to us all that he was willing to lie and deceive to achieve his goals. Then his refusal to endorse Trump at the Convention showed him to be a petulant loser that couldn't put the fate of our nation ahead of his hurt feelings.

Yes, he is saying the right things and supporting President Trump right now but that can change at any moment when Ted decides his better interests lie elsewhere. He is not worthy of our votes, our respect or our trust. And he is certainly not worthy of a seat on the Supreme Court. We don't need another John Roberts up there. All the man is doing now is trying to rehabilitate his image so he can run for President again in 2020 or 2024.

I don’t get any pleasure out of this. Ted had been my number two guy, and I had wanted him to be VP, POTUS, and then a SCOTUS Justice. Why would I be trying to go after him now, if I didn’t have good reason?

Even having good reason, it’s not fun having to recite his actions last year and see folks act as if they didn’t know it themselves. It’s not fun watching folks I respect act as if last year was nothing, and now is what counts.

What if Trump hadn’t made it? What if Hillary was the president right now? What would Ted be doing to curry favor, knowing he had just helped her to become president?

So I plug away doing the thankless job of reminding folks what a miserable turn-coat Ted was last year.

The Nation be damned, Ted was going to play his NeverTrump games in some reckless manner like driving cars towards each other to see who flinches first. Only Ted sitting in the driver’s seat of the United States best hopes for the future. He risked it all for personal glory.

He took the car out without permission. He could have destroyed it all. Luckily, Donald Trump pulled his bacon out of the fire. If Trump had lost, Cruz would have been destroyed along with the car he had taken out without permission.

Why do I have to remind folks? Why doesn’t this matter? Is this really the type of Conservatives we are? Do we really watch a guy sell us out for personal reasons, then pat him on the back because he said a few nice things?

No.

Our President needs Senator Cruz’s support. He needs our support.

Trashing the only Senator who is taking a stand with him is hurting Trump - not helping him.

Sadly, most people do have short memories. Maybe you should save your post, and do a quick copy/paste every time it is needed!

I very much appreciate you taking time to remind people of these very important FACTS....again, and again, and again, lest anyone forget and be fooled yet again.

President Trump assessed Cruz’s talents and despite Cruz’s ill character, will use him as needed in whatever capacity DJT deems best.

All I can say is, thank God DJT is our President!

Every mid level and above employee of every US bank is required to serve a 6 month internship with CFR.

That deceptive statement is pretty close to being a lie of omission E-S.

Heidi Cruz was a lot more than just an intern, wasn't she? Not many interns get to help write a seminal document proposing the destruction of our country.

The time for Ted to help, was when the nation was on the line last year.

He needs to sit down, shut the hell up, and vote responsibly when the time comes.

That’s all he needs to do.

Trump doesn’t need him any more than he needs any other Republican right now, and none of the others are trying to hotdog it for personal fame.

I agree with your take on Trump using him if he sees fit to.

I appreciate the nice comments, and we share the appreciation of Trump as our CIC.

This is the best chance we’ve had in my lifetime.

NeverTrumpers took a pass on helping us get here. Now they can STFU.

Ill have to disagree. I am all for him and others getting on board.

You prefer Ted acting like John McCain and Lindsey Graham? I sure hope not.

Trashing the only Senator who is taking a stand with him is hurting Trump - not helping him.

Ted has lied to us before. He will again. He has lied about President Trump. He will again. We should never forget who Ted Cruz is. He is a man with a plan and he is willing to lie and deceive to achieve it. He can never be trusted.

Cruz is supporting President Trump now because he believes it to be in his best interest to do so and for no other reason. President Trump knows this and will use Cruz to his own advantage and then toss him to the side like he did Mitt Romney during the Presidential Transition. Telling the truth about Ted Cruz is in no way harming President Trump.

End of the day - I’m proud that Trump is our President. I really am.
_______________

Your post warms my heart.
Trump was a little tough to get used to stylistically. I was on the Trump Train very early but I had to really get used to his style.

I love our President.

Let me ask you this. I think you know my thoughts on McCain, Graham, and Rubio. I think they are turncoats. I think of them as traitors to the cause, and possibly in real terms for what they advocated us to do in financing and arming three terrorist groups. There are no bigger threats to the U.S. right now, than those three terrorist groups.

If you’re a baseball fan, you’ll be able to understand this analogy. The season is winding down, and a critical player tosses a moody performance during the last few weeks of the season. He mouths off, isn’t a team player, shows a very poor attitude, and his play on the field costs the team a chance at the playoffs.

Next spring all the guys he cost post season bonuses aren’t too thrilled with seeing the guy. He shows up popping off his mouth and acting as if he’s the franchise all by himself.

You think any of those guys are buying it? They’d just as soon as seen him traded in the off season as back.

We had a whole nation on the line. I’m not thrilled to see Ted hot dogging it right now.

He can go back to being the rookie on the team and earn respect slowly over the next few years.

Him acting as if he’s indispensable now, is nothing but self-serving and disgusting. He wants everyone to think he’s real important. Is he? No. We have enough votes in the Senate. Ted isn’t winning anyone over. He grand-standing and folks are suckering for it.

There’s a whole lot of room between a good Republican and the three losers you mentioned at the beginning of your post.

If Ted had cost us the election last year, he would have done more harm to this nation that the three men you mentioned combined.

We have the best chance at change since the Civil War.

Ted cavalierly took a pass on helping us get here. Imagine the damage he could have caused, and he still can’t grasp it to this day.

I don’t know any Texans who will vote for him again, in the real world.

You do now. I'll vote Cruz and make sure all the friends and relatives do, too. No way in heck will I sit back while slimy Joaquin Castro takes that Senate seat because dead heads can't get over the primary squabbles.
