President Donald Trump relieved acting Attorney General Sally Yates of her duties Monday night after she directed Justice Department attorneys not to defend Trump's controversial executive refugee and immigration ban.
Yates, a holdover from the Obama Administration, was replaced as acting attorney general by Dana Boente, the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia.
White House spokesman Sean Spicer said Yates had "betrayed the Justice Department" by refusing to enforce Trump's order, which temporarily halted the entire U.S. refugee program and banned all entries from seven Muslim-majority nations for 90 days.

Yup. That's exactly what this was about.
She flashed her 'bonafides.'
So, is there disagreement with President Trump’s team or media hype. Don’t like the tone of news, even from Fox. The pile on today from all these folks, acting AG, State folks, Obama, and people in Congress is almost like a coup. Where is McConnell showing some leadership to back President Trump?
I thought a similar thing, but your words are far more humorous.
If you need any other evidence that Fed.gov is captured by statist-leftists-progressives, here it is.
They put their ideology above the law.
I swear I never thought I’d see this day. It has been long, long, so long overdue. Thank you God! It’s nice to see someone with a spine.
Now somebody slap one into McConnell!
Hilarious to listen to people in media totally botch the analysis of the firing of the Acting AG.
[Think I'll pour a glass of Trump wine...]
YES. Get the insubordinate bitch out.
Next
“You’re FIRED!”
I loved that Trump fired this bitch, instead of asking for her to resign. Being insubordinate in the Trump Administration will result in the dishonor of being fired.
He would have to resign from the Senate to accept the acting appointment. His vote might be need to confirm his permanent appointment.
I’m shocked at how fast this all played out.

HA, President Trump is da man!
Don’t eff with da man.
Ok, now how about we lock up the people attacking the Presidents voters?
Trump should file a complaint with the bar association. What Yates did was attempt to force her client - the U.S. government - into default by not appearing and answering suits in the courts where filed. The response is simple enough - a motion to dismiss on grounds that the President was acting within his discretion - and in most cases the complainants lack standing.
What will the results be if half of the government workers resign? My answer is the government would immediately become more efficient.
Drain the swamp! MAGA!
He has just fired someone else. Ragsdale..
Wow! This has to be a record for an executive action.
