The US government will not automatically allow green card holders who traveled to countries placed under a temporary travel ban back into the United States, two sources familiar with the matter told CNN.
Instead, those travelers will have to apply for a waiver to the executive order that instituted the ban, the sources said. When they land, they will be taken into a secondary screening process to determine their eligibility. The countries targeted by Trump's executive order include the Muslim-majority nations of Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Syria, Sudan and Yemen.

No it doesn’t. Rule changes come with grandfathering. This was just plain poorly thought out and executed from the get go. It’s not supposed to happen, and excusemongering it doesn’t make it any better.
I wish you the best, but we will continue to disagree.
Because you are accepting thing you shouldn’t. We were promised better.
“Because you are accepting thing you shouldnt.”
We disagree. I’m fine with a transition. You are not. So what.
“We were promised better.”
We were promised an end to refugees from locations connected to terror, which we could not vet. Great. Say and believe whatever you wish. I’m thrilled.
I’m never fine with poor execution. We’re supposed to be better than that. Funny how a guy with a handle that mentions perfection is so eager to accept crappy execution.
And we are not getting an end to refugees from locations connected to terror. Again Saudi Arabia is not on the list. Therefore the list is crap. Therefore anybody “thrilled” is a fool. You can call it rain, but it’s demonstrably pee. You go ahead and be thrilled with getting peed on. That just shows how willing you are to accept bad results because the supposedly right guy is doing it.
Crappy execution? I’m sure he doesn’t want to be responsible for some fake green card holders to be let into the country to commit terrorism. That would look really bad. Everyone would say he should have done something . . .
We know for a fact that the Obama team was issuing green cards and visas to refugees from terrorist-producing countries and to questionable characters from places not on the list of banned countries. It’s ok to stop things for a few days. Then screen the visa and green card holders. Then allow those folks to proceed or not.
Yes crappy execution. These aren’t fake green card holders. These people have legit green cards and visas and are being detained for no good reason.
It’s NOT OK to stop things for a few days. These are REAL PEOPLE being detained without charge and without cause. That’s not OK. These are basically random arrests without proof or cause. This is WRONG. And if Obama was still in the White House you’d admit that, but it’s wrong no matter who is in the White House.
Thanks for sharing your opinions.
It’s not opinion. It’s reality. This is poorly done and we should expect better. Sorry you can’t be bothered to admit he screwed up, but that’s on you.
Please turn out the lights in this thread when you leave. We are trying to conserve our resources on FR.
I’m done, but you’re clearly addicted to the last word, and I like to help people break bad habits.
New Rule, any Green Card Holder who fraudulently Votes in our Elections should have their Residency Revoked and be Deported.
Interesting, because everyone says that only people who have lived lifelong did the acts.
