WASHINGTON A woman impersonated the wife of a GOP lawmaker and snuck into the congressional Republican retreat in Philadelphia Thursday, the same day President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence appeared, retreat organizers told lawmakers late Saturday.
The revelation came as the nonprofit Congressional Institute that organizes the retreat investigates how audio of the gathering leaked. In an email to GOP lawmakers, institute president Mark Strand did not directly say that the impersonator was the same person who leaked the audio, but that was the implication.
The Congressional Institute is continuing to investigate this breach in order to fully understand how it happened and to ensure it does not happen again, said Strands email, which was obtained by The Associated Press.
The audio was leaked to several news outlets and first reported by The Washington Post. It reveals lawmakers airing concerns about the practical difficulties and political risks of repealing and replacing President Barack Obamas health care law, among other things. There is also audio of a question-and-answer session with Pence, indicating that the intruder was in the same room as the vice president, which raises Security concerns ...

display the disloyalty out in the light of day and let them own it.
It was the Russians. They outfitted the intruder. They trained her. They hacked the retreat.
...eyes rolling...
When will the left realize that we don’t mind when RINOs take it in the shorts...? That said, this is a very poorly written article. Whom did this woman allegedly misrepresent herself to? Who was she? Who knew what when? I think there is much more to this story that the paper is either ignoring or spinning.
Kind of like leaving a suitcase with a bomb under the table in an important meeting.
I am actually glad to hear the video...

Was there a video at the link? If there was a video, I missed it.
Look, if you don’t express “concerns” about the replace thing, then it wouldn’t matter about possible leaks. Too many Republicans with loose lips.
bigspender, that was my thought days ago when I heard about this retreat. These people see each other every day in DC. Why do they have to waste time and money trekking up to Philly, dragging the Pres and VP up there, at who knows what cost of planes, security, etc. Why not meet at one of the many venues in DC? Total waste of money. They aren't really thinking about the tax payer yet!
It also shows the ineptness of those in charge, who certainly were lax in providing security. This is not 1950,and we live in the terrorists’ era now. This is inexcusable.
Thank God, Mitt Romney wasn’t speaking about class warfare...
The retreat is sponsored by a non-profit called the ‘Congressional Institute’. It is funded and run by lobbyists. It’s another cover for bribery.
An explosive is totally different. A recording device (cell phone) is easy to get past the Secret Service, since it is not what they are looking for.
Was’nt a President sacked (Nixon) for the very same thing (Watergate)?
There will be an assassination attempt. Count on it. The government is infested with Leftists. God help us.
The RINOcrats are gutless cowards and are as traitorous as Demonicrats.
Just an example of how much the RINO leadership care about security
The Salahis. They looked like they belonged at such an event.
David Brinkley, in his memoir Washington Goes to War, says in the much different, much smaller Washington of the 1940s, if you wore a suit, a clean shirt, and had a fresh shine on your shoes, you would be admitted to any social or political gathering in the nation's capital without question.
Yep. Guv employees love “retreats”.
“They have to go off campus? Does that make them feel more important? “
Yep. And it gets them better chow without having to pay for it.
The retreat is sponsored by a non-profit called the Congressional Institute.
Funny, I initially read that as Congressional Prostitute.
