Before he left office Barack Obama commuted more federal sentences than any other president in history, most famously that of former Army Private Bradley Manning, who divulged hundreds of thousands of classified documents and seriously damaged national security. Drug offenders were also high on Obama’s list. Notably absent was Army Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl, whom Obama ransomed for several notorious Taliban terrorists, and Obama’s National Security Advisor proclaimed an American hero. Why did Manning get the nod and not Bergdahl?
Obama was far more personally invested in Bergdahl’s case, feting his parents in the Rose Garden upon the soldier’s release from Taliban captivity, and practically groping his mom, which even made liberal columnist Richard Cohen a bit queasy. But in deciphering Obama’s inaction on Bergdahl one first has to adopt the ex-president’s mindset, which might be summarized as “what’s in it for me?”
Obama had little to gain personally from intervening in Bergdahl’s case in his final days in office, despite the high cost we paid to recover the alleged deserter from Taliban captivity, and his own aide’s glowing words about Bergdahl, which surely reflected Obama’s own view at the time.

The way that 0bama fawned over Bergdahl’s parents, I too am surprised that he was not pardoned. Berg was a straight-up Muslim just like his pappy . . . and definitely on the boy-kings favored list.
He’ll still get a DD regardless.
I'm not a lawyer...and never ran afoul of the UCMJ...but even I know that that's not likely to fly.However,the same motion citing Obama's statements are an entirely different matter.
So if a guy risk and maybe causes the deaths of Americans, assists our enemies, yet if he likes to wear women’s underwear, he gets a get out jail free card?

He wanted to pardon a transgender and could care less about what the trans did or who he helped get killed. The guy might have been Stalin himself but if he is wearing panties, then according to Obama is okay.
It was hypocritical of Obama to be whining about the Russians hacking the DNC and Podesta’s email which then ended up on WikiLeaks and then pardon a guy who passed information to the same entity. Democrats were probably not too happy with Obama over this.
Because Obama determined that it would not benefit Obama to do so.

I disagree. At least since the election, Obama has been primarily concerned with his future money making potential.
The Obamas can always rake in a few million off of far left-wing nostalgia, but to make a Clinton level fortune (that he is entitled to, dammit) he has to be able to peddle influence. There were not enough Bergdahl supporters to worth bothering with.
The fluff is gone and his legacy is collapsing. I'd like to see more facts come out about his failure.... starting with Obamacare.
