Caroline Kennedy lost her Ambassador post in Japan when Trump took office. He sent her packing and hasn’t even bothered to name a replacement.
But according to the New York Post, she’s not done with public service. Kennedy is planning to run for the U.S. senate in 2018.
First, she’s going to be penning a memoir, but then she’ll be getting down to work. She plans to follow in the footsteps of her uncle Robert Kennedy, and run for a New York senate seat.
She plans to target the seat of Democratic Senator Kristen Gillibrand. Or she could run for Rep. Kristen Gillibrand’s House seat instead.
This is great news for progressives. Caroline Kennedy has the Kennedy name and recognition, but none of the baggage.

Kennedy has a net worth...Kennedy trust funds.
She has much of the popularity of Elizabeth Warren and Hillary Clinton among Progressives, but no baggage. So securing campaign donations won’t be a problem.
But her aspirations don’t end there. According to an unnamed source, “Caroline had a successful ambassadorial run in Japan and feels really very confident about putting her hat in the ring for a New York congressional or Senate seat, with even possibly bigger political objectives down the road”
“Down the road” could include a run for president in 2020. She would be a strong candidate to run against the Republicans.

Democrats never run on policy. She wants to run on her last name.
Improving her public speaking ability will do nothing about her personal, financial, marital issues. All of which will come to light if she runs. But if Dems want to pour money down that ‘Rat hole, I’m happy to let them do it.

This one has never shown much ability that I’ve ever noticed, and being ambassador to Japan means just showing up and being polite at social functions, I’m sure she handled that well enough,
Maybe she should run for Mayor instead, certainly she could do a better job than that corrupt clinton and anyone from the local paper boy on up would be more competent than de blasio, the bar is already set very low,

It’s a known fact that JFK and Robert were sharing Marilyn Monroe. Why these men are held up to such high regard I will never know.

This is exactly how this woman speaks. I am sure she wrote this.
F. Chuck isn’t going anywhere; he keeps telling himself that the Dims will retake the Senate in 2018, and he’ll be the next majority leader. Never mind a more likely scenario is the GOP gaining more seats and moving closer to a super-majority.
But a run by Kennedy against Gillibrand would put Chuckie in an awkward position. On one hand, Gillibrand has been his reliable lap dog; whatever Chuck wants, she will deliver. But does Schumer really want to oppose JFK’s daughter?
Truth be told, the Kennedys don’t have the pull they once did, even in the Democrat party. As others have pointed out, Caroline’s last bid for public office was an absolute disaster; for someone with her background and education, she is almost incoherent and exhibits almost no spark or charisma. Gillibrand is a pretty dim bulb herself, but she could beat Kennedy (and rather handily) in a senate primary.
Which will make the demoncrats fall all over themselves to vote her in.
Certain names have simply become toxic in our body politic.

Caroline Kennedy has donned her best Santa suit to spread Christmas cheer in two bizarre new videos.
Kennedy, the US Ambassador to Japan, starred in the short clips posted to the American Embassy in Tokyo's YouTube account this week.
In the first clip, Kennedy - the daughter of former president John F. Kennedy - was seen clambering into a chimney while dressed as Saint Nick carrying a sack-full of presents.
'Santa's in the house,' Kennedy said, before tumbling down the chimney.
After regaining her feet after the mock-fall, the 59-year-old said, 'Merry Christmas and happy holidays,' as a seasonal tune continued to play in the background. It had been viewed about 12,000 times on Wednesday evening.
The second video, which was published Tuesday, featured Kennedy and her entire staff at the embassy.
When you think of Obama playing golf over 300 times, James Taylor singing in France with John Kerry, the Iran deal, and the latest releasting $210 million to the Palestinians just before they leave office, you realize that we've had children running this country of ours for the past 8 years.
You also realize that, unless we turn things around, and do so quickly, we may never turn it around.
The worst thing is, the media is clueless.
Could be her stupidity is an attractive feature. This election, they kept pushing a Parkinson’s-suffering drunk with dementia and the Clinton surname. Now they are making noises about an airhead debutant with a Kennedy surname. They want somebody stupid that they can use as a figurehead, somebody who can be trusted not to think too deeply, but who can be coached to say her lines, and be a Kennedy. That, after all, may well be what they wanted with Hillary.
