MEXICO CITY--President Enrique Pe

I've never read Art of the Deal, but if there's a chapter about how to get people to pay a bill while making them think someone else is paying it, I will.
“The incident opened one of the most serious rifts in memory between the United States and its southern neighbor.”
One of the most? Try the most. And we are loving it.
There would theoretically be more jobs although the logistics of shifting production will take a while and likely won’t be limited to Mexico but will workers be able to afford more expensive products is the question.
Stupid answer...
Mexico has a trillion dollar economy. Even if they decide to raise taxes on their whole economy to get the $20 billion for the fence, that would not increase the costs of their exports to us by $20 billion. At most it would be a small fraction of that. Additionally they may not want to increase taxes on US exports at all since that would end up reducing the exports and cutting their noses to spite their faces. Or they may choose to not increase taxes at all but reduce expenses in some other program.
Get it??
Yeah huh!!! And not just Mexico- everything south of our border, Guatemala, Honduras etc. It wouldn’t e a bad idea to put a fee on ALL cash being sent out of the country by ANY non-citizens. That would catch the non-Hispanic illegals too.
Me neither! Products from either China or Mexico are
banned in our house. I’ll pay a little more and buy
MADE IN THE U.S.A.
This was a very bad day for Mexico.
No ... actually subsidizing union jobs through massive taxation is liberal logic. No need for tariffs and protectionism. Get rid of the regulations and the economy will flourish and produce lots of jobs.
I popped on the radio for a few moments today and was furious to hear the news-twit on Fox News Radio describe the wall as “Mr. Trump’s Wall.”
First of all, newsbabe, it’s PRESIDENT Trump to you. Second of all, it’s not HIS wall - it’s OUR wall because we-the-people elected him to represent us as our President. Don’t like it? Move to Mexico and broadcast your propaganda THERE.

I was looking at the various cities in Texas near the border and noticed the city of Brownsville...
Now if the NFL Football Team named the Redskins is deemed racist, surely Brownsville should also be, no?
Where is the OUTCRY from DEMS/LIBATARDS?

“Get rid of the regulations and the economy will flourish and produce lots of jobs.”
Naïve. Regulations and taxes do need to be reduced, but that isn’t the only thing.
Bias isn’t a strong enough word in this case.
There must be a stronger one.
A bigger steaming pile of #### I’ve not read in a while.
And that’s saying something.
I never thought of that.
Would our product prices come down low enough to compete without all the regulations?
What do you think about tax incentives for corporations to stay? I go back and forth.
It will not be 20% on top of current retail prices on goods from Mexico. The 20% will be roughly on about 1/2 of retail prices, or manufacturing cost plus transportation. So there will be 10% and less at retail and some of that will be absorbed at various points from the importer, through wholesale and finally at the retail level.
In some competitive situations, the consumer would see little or no price increase at retail.
Let’s budget in not only the Wall, - but a randomly activated Mine field as well as a few trip wires. I don’t think that’s asking for too much.
Driscoll has captured the market. What I do about strawberries - as much as I hate it - is just wait for those two weeks in June. If desperate, I buy Dole frozen strawberries to make a lovely sauce with butter and liquor and sugar.
Well, the American distribution point receiving the imports will be paying 20% more. That will be reflected in an increase in prices to the American consumer who loses in this. It represents a government-forced lowering in the standard of living by anyone affected by this forced price increase. Nobody talks about that.
I love Trump but not to capitulation. This is not a good move.
Yup to that.
Although if they are here picking in US fields, they are doing that here, too.
