Trump Repeats Lie About Popular Vote in Meeting With Lawmakers
New York Times ^ | January 23rd, 2017 | Michael Shear, Huetteman

Posted on 01/23/2017 9:03:11 PM PST by ChessExpert

WASHINGTON — President Trump used his first official meeting with congressional leaders on Monday to falsely claim that millions of unauthorized immigrants had robbed him of a popular vote majority, a return to his obsession with the election’s results even as he seeks support for his legislative agenda.

‘I don’t give a crap about vague language from the POS NYTimes that “various factcheckers” having found the claim false.’

Yes, the appeal to (liberal) fact-checkers, who may even get their “facts” from the NYT, is ludicrous.

How do they plan to prove it didn’t happen.

“Fact: Many illegals voted, especially in CA. Nobody knows how many.”

One of the first tings for AG Sessions to do will be go to LA and all the other sanctuary cities, get the voter registration rolls, and compare them with SS and IRS records to see which of their voters are and aren’t citizens. Of course, the NYT will applaud this operation because they know it will prov the point of this article (sarc. off).

Wouldn’t you say it’s true that “various factcheckers” have found the reporting in the NYTimes to be unreliable and frequenty partisan?

Hillary's plurality in California was much larger than Obama's in 2012. Are we supposed to believe that people were much more enthusiastic about voting for her than they were for Obama, or that Romney was a more charismatic candidate than Trump?

The NYT manages to insinuate that Hillary got a majority of the popular vote in the country, instead of merely a plurality (accepting the official vote totals). Nobody had a majority.

‘Hey, why don’t you quit posting fake news and Left wing propaganda. Are you carrying water for the Slimes or what?!!’

My comment, post 1, was negative about the article and about the NYT.

Donald Trump went to the NYT’s headquarters. He was very gracious and respectful when talking with them. There was nothing wrong with that. If he made any connections with their management (or ownership), he should bring this up with them. They don't have to agree on the substance - how many illegal votes went to Hillary. But the NYT should apologizes for using the word “lie” in an article and especially in a high-visibility headline. The responsible editor should get a dressing down. Letting him go should be a definite option, if the NYT wants the respect of President Trump and the public.

Trump has a legitimate beef here. He is nice to the NYT and they respond by slapping him in the face.

“Remember that when they got into Detroit’s ballots and found major discrepancies, they immediately shut down Jill Stein’s recount.”

Yes, I remember that. It could have been coincidence, but I did wonder if it was cause and effect.

It's like when you hear about a mass shooting, and you wonder if it is Jihad. At least half the time it is. Initial MSM reports almost always find some other cause. They try their darnedest to find some other explanation, and they slow roll the truth.

Maybe after a few decades we (the US) may now be able to see what Jackie saw right away, "JFK was shot by a communist." A communist, I might add, that had recently been to Cuba. Probably a communist assassin who received orders from Castro. I'm sure Castro didn't appreciate the CIA attempts on his life.

Sometimes the obvious and correct solution is out their for everyone to see, for example, the prince has no clothes, yet no one seems to see.

I think he’s playing 5D chess here. This “controversy” sets the stage for voter ID which is the only reasonable solution.

They said, boxes would be certified as having 300 votes; they’d open it up and find 50 ballots.

They then said, under Michigan law, with that much discrepancy between the certified document and the actual ballots inside, they could not legally recount those ballots... so the certified count must stand. !!

When they kept finding boxes like that, they talked to the guy in charge of the polling station. He said, when he would try to feed the ballot into the machine, sometimes it wouldn’t feed and he would have to feed it several times so maybe that’s how it counted each ballot 6 times... !!

Anyway, at some point it was all too embarrassing so they just shut it down. In the rest of Michigan the count was pretty close, Trump would pick up a handful of votes in the recount but nothing dramatic. Clinton apparently never picked up any, but the discrepancies were small. When they got to Detroit, it wasn’t even close and they shut it down.

“I would argue that we need to comb through their articles and respond and rebuff them.”

You may be right. Certainly DJT responds.

The Silent Majority are usually silent because it takes too much effort and there is too little payoff in responding. Republican politicians have taken the high road for the same reason, but then they get intimidated.

I guess one can’t respond every time, but should respond to the most egregious cases.

Illegally cast ballots is an important topic that deserves a thorough discussion and investigation. That is too much for me to address right now.

For the NYT to use the word “lie” like that in a headline is just trashy. It is small and vindictive. Unless corrected, they deserve to lose some more floors of the NYT building. As a rule, I sympathize with people losing their jobs. But in the case of the MSM in general, and the NYT in particular, I say they have it coming.

The simplest solution to this problem, and it’s eminently fair, is to require proof of citizenship to register to vote. This should be a federal law. Of course, Dems/progressives/liberals would be implacably opposed to this, as they are now to similar proposed state laws.

Thanks for the confirmation. It still seems to be blip in the news from a press conference; fake news people are hand-wringing over Trump’s statement, and Spicer would not budge; that Trump believes illegal voting to absolutely be the case. Of course Fake News is not budging either, they are stating that so such thing happened.

AAAAAARRRRRRGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!
