Newly minted Secretary of Defense James Mattis celebrated his first full day at the Pentagon by overseeing 31 strikes against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.
Mattis entered the Pentagon Saturday with a smile for his first full day of work, and for good reason, considering the significant bombardment ISIS forces received.
A variety of fighters, bombers and remotely piloted aircraft engaged in the bombing run, which saw 25 strikes in Syria and six in Iraq.
In Syria, two strikes destroyed ISIS units and artillery near the town of Bab. ISIS forces in Raqqa, the terrorist groups de facto capital, took a heavy beating, as 22 strikes destroyed 12 tactical units, nine fighting positions, two underground improvised explosive bomb factories and an ISIS headquarters. The final strike targeted two ISIS oil wells in Deir ez Zour.

We know this now.
we did not have enough uranium for even the first bomb until we captured the u-boat with it en route to Japan.
**************
I heard of that shipment but have forgotten the details, Japan was building it’s own atomic bomb which we didn’t know about until we captured the building where the scientists worked out of... I have no doubt that the ENORMOUS facility in Oak Ridge created enough material to build the first 2 bombs.

Nuke em till they glow, then pave the danged place for a parking lot for their camels and mules.
Anyone that thinks the United States of America has been in a military conflict with ISIS for the past 3 years is a complete idiot about everything in the world.
There’s a vid out there with him gustily singing the following with WWII and other vets:
He was just a rookie trooper and he surely shook with fright,
He checked all his equipment and made sure his pack was tight;
He had to sit and listen to those awful engines roar,
“You ain’t gonna jump no more!”
(CHORUS)
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
He ain’t gonna jump no more!
“Is everybody happy?” cried the Sergeant looking up,
Our Hero feebly answered “Yes,” and then they stood him up;
He jumped into the icy blast, his static line unhooked,
And he ain’t gonna jump no more.
(CHORUS)
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
He ain’t gonna jump no more!
He counted long, he counted loud, he waited for the shock,
He felt the wind, he felt the cold, he felt the awful drop,
The silk from his reserves spilled out, and wrapped around his legs,
And he ain’t gonna jump no more.
(CHORUS)
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
He ain’t gonna jump no more!
The risers swung around his neck, connectors cracked his dome,
Suspension lines were tied in knots around his skinny bones;
The canopy became his shroud; he hurtled to the ground.
And he ain’t gonna jump no more.
(CHORUS)
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
He ain’t gonna jump no more!
The days he’d lived and loved and laughed kept running through his mind,
He thought about the girl back home, the one he’d left behind;
He thought about the medic corps, and wondered what they’d find,
And he ain’t gonna jump no more.
(CHORUS)
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
He ain’t gonna jump no more!
The ambulance was on the spot, the jeeps were running wild,
The medics jumped and screamed with glee, they rolled their sleeves and smiled,
For it had been a week or more since last a ‘Chute had failed,
And he ain’t gonna jump no more.
(CHORUS)
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
He ain’t gonna jump no more!
He hit the ground, the sound was “SPLAT”, his blood went spurting high;
His comrades, they were heard to say “A hell of a way to die!”
He lay there, rolling ‘round in the welter of his gore,
And he ain’t gonna jump no more.
(CHORUS)
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
He ain’t gonna jump no more!
(slowly, solemnly; about half the speed of the other verses)
There was blood upon the risers, there were brains upon the chute,
Intestines were a-dangling from his paratroopers suit,
He was a mess, they picked him up, and poured him from his boots,
And he ain’t gonna jump no more.
(CHORUS)
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
He ain’t gonna jump no more!
You’re perilously close to some demerits there, ‘gator.
Now just a cotton pickin’ minit here. Let’s be fair. That building is the work product of thousands of union members, architects, and subcontractors who know how to milk a government contract. You level it, they’ll all just get hired to build something in its place. It’s liable to have plenty of uses just as it is. Why, it’d make a great burlesque theater, and they could have the police auction off cars there, instead of at One Police Plaza. And just think what a great all-night laundry or multiplex cinema it would make.
I’m hoping you are right. But I have a feeling someone of the Soros type will keep them financially propped up.
JDAM2U!!!!!
Throughout the speech, and much of the day, Mr. Trump looked stern. At first I thought it was the face he puts on when hes nervous. I dont think so now.
Apparently that was a "working" Inaugural Parade.
Time to face up to it: George W. Bush was a piss-poor president whose bungling
He was really a damned good president, just not a perfect one. He did make mistakes. But he kept America safe, and kept the economy humming along, until the Dem sabotage finally kicked in, almost on cue.
paved the way for Obama’s even worse bungling
You really think he was “bungling”? He was deliberately sabotaging everything right until the end. Bush did his best against a hostile DNC and MSM, but they were out to get him and sunk lower than anyone thought they could. He didn’t fight back the way DJT has and will, but that’s not to say that there was anything to the bulls@#$% they threw at him ‘til it stuck.
Just the dismantling of TPP
Within a matter of days, he was bombing Afghanistan.
LOL...Touche!
Yep. The targets weren’t just discovered this morning.
A good start.
“Dang, cant get this grin off my face.”
I read that and notice that I, too, have a silly grin on my face!
:)
My Spidey Sense is telling me that these were all targets the Pentagon wanted to hit, but they couldn’t get the Obamunist Crypto-muzzies to approve the strikes.
Agree. The media will try to portray the rift between Military & intelligence and in reality it was O and his political appointees... not the fine people who actually do the hard part.
