28% of federal employees may quit their jobs when Trump assumes office: Poll

Almost two-thirds of federal employees voted for Hillary Clinton during the presidential election, according to a new survey.

The poll also found that six of 10 felt that the election itself gave Americans a negative impression of federal service.

So it may come as no surprise that some federal employees are considering leaving their employment when President-elect Donald Trump assumes office.

“More than one in four federal workers, or 28 percent, will definitely or possibly consider leaving their jobs after Jan. 20 when Trump is sworn into office and becomes leader of the executive branch,” according to the survey conducted by the Government Business Council and Government Executive, which both track the trends of the field.

Half said that Mr. Trump’s business experience would “hinder his management of the federal government” while almost two thirds believe that his business relationships pose a conflict of interest. Both points are also popular narratives within the Democratic Party as well.

I worked for the feds for over 30 years, from Ford to Bush2, and I never saw anyone resign because they didn’t like the president.

“They’re non-political professionals, not political hacks.”

2/3rd voted for Hillary.

I bet 90% of the DOJ employees did.

None of the IRS agents spoke out.

I didn’t see a mass exit of FBI agents.

Clean out the swamp. At all levels.

But that one, they’ll be sure to interview that one, and make it sound like all of them!

CNN will literally hump the leg of anyone that will speak ill of Trump. So, 15 minutes of CNN leg humping fame, come and get it!!

I worked for the federal government for 36 years. The idea that 28% of federal employees may quit doesn’t pass the laugh test. Does anyone think they will pass on their generous pension benefits, job security, and other employee perks? The retention rate in the federal government is very high, better than the private sector. More fake news.

Perhaps so, but they would have been getting their retirement anyway. If they leave now, instead of in 1 or more years, we are that much ahead of the game. At least this way, we don’t have to fill those positions. Winning!
