Northern California digs out, as another ‘atmospheric river’ takes shape
The Sacramento Bee ^ | January 13th, 2017 | By Dale Kasler, Ryan Sabalow, Peter Hecht and Bill Lindelof

From broken levees south of Sacramento to snowbound streets in the mountains, Northern Californians tried to mop up from this week’s storms on Friday – while bracing for another “atmospheric river” set to hit Tuesday.

As the sun came out in Sacramento, the National Weather Service said the region should have four days to dry out before the next big storm system moves in. The dry weather will give swollen rivers and streams a chance to recede, and allow work crews to inspect and shore up levees strained by increased water flows. Still, the weather service said the next storm could be substantial, with up to 3 inches of rain possible in the Sacramento area.

The article says Squaw Valley has received 15 feet of snow in the last week, the most in 45 years, and there's another river coming.

Already the Northern Sierras are on pace to have their wettest winter in recorded history.

The enviros forbade the state to build reservoirs, so the bulk of the fresh water will flow freely to the sea. Pity.

See John Wayne, life is harder when you’re stupid.

Trump gets elected, and the drought in California ends.

Winning!

What do you know? Weather is cyclical. Who knew?

If we have a few wet years they’ll start talking about too much water and complain about that.

Of course they already are to a certain extent.

Damn. Droughts sure suck.

What will California do about GLOBAL WARMING if their drought is over?

It’s not long since all the libtards were crying that humans had caused “climate change” to give CA permanent drought.

It seems that idiocy has been washed away.

I live on the western slope of the Sierras, and we have had 15 (fifteen) inches of rain in the last storm.

Ease off now, mate. I happen to live in NorCal but am not a liberal wanker like so many in the Bay Area and I have to suffer just like everyone else when the Bay Area Elites decide to do something “for the good of everyone”...

Frustrating as you would not believe having to put up with what is coming out of Sacramento when the majority of us up here are trying to find a realistic solution to so many things that the Coastal Elites have already decided we (the unenlightened rubes beyond the city) must be indoctrinated away from.

Not an easy task, I can assure you.

Unfortunately, we do not take full advantage of what nature provides us. We allow too much water to flow back to the ocean to flush the delta and save an obscure unimportant fish species instead of prioritizing water storage. There are all kinds of proposals out there that are stymied by Gov Moonbeam and his Sierra Club constituents.

Exactly! I knew this was coming!

In truth though, droughts come and go. Big surprise, this one ended.

Some of the language in these articles are annoying.

Now we have atmospheric rivers. Why not call it atmospheric lakes or an atmospheric ocean?

Wankers...

Think before you lump millions of good folks into the same basket. You have included in “bunch” the founder of this site, Jim Robinson, Doug from Upland and many others.
Millions voted for DJT and are proud of it!!

Down here on the Gulf Coast all we get are tropical storms and hurricanes.

None of them Atmospheric Rivers.
